Chitkara Institute of Engineering and Technology (CIET) was established in 2002 in Patiala, Punjab under the Chitkara Educational Trust. The institute is AICTE-approved, affiliated to Chitkara University and ranked among top 50 private engineering colleges in India. CIET admission for BE and ME programmes is based on a valid score in JEE Main and GATE respectively, followed by a personal interview. For other courses such as BCA, MCA (Lateral Entry) candidates must appear for a Personal Interview (PI) round conducted by the institute. The institute offers full-time BCA as well as BCA+MCA (Integrated) programmes for the duration of three years and five years, respectively. The eligibility criteria for admission is as follows:

About BCA+MCA (Integrated) programme:

• Students who enrol for this programme can do their Bachelor’s as well as Master of Computer Application without a break
• Through this integrated programme, students end up saving a year for their higher studies
• On completion of three years, BCA is merged with intensive classes and students get a chance to experience their last two years as an intern in IT companies

CIET offers a unique Research Induced Fellowship Programme (RIFP) for Master of Engineering which is a full-time post-graduate course of two-year duration. The eligibility criteria for admission is mentioned below:

On successful completion of the programme, students are given an option to choose any of the following opportunities (based on selection criteria):

• Direct entry to the Fellowship PhD programme and work as Research Associate at Chitkara University Research and Innovation Network (CURIN)
• A career in teaching at School of EE/ CS/ or Civil Engineering
• At the end of second year, the students can have an opportunity to take direct admission into PhD (fellowship) programme of Chitkara University

CIET MCA Lateral Entry is a full-time PG level course in Computer Applications of two-year duration. The eligibility criteria for admission is mentioned below:

Apart from above programmes, the institute also offers PhD, a doctoral-level programme. The institute has highly qualified faculty members committed to impart high-quality research in their respective fields. For admission, candidates need to meet the below-mentioned eligibility criteria:

Candidates can follow the CIET application process in three ways. The application fee is Rs 1,100.

Option 1: Purchase an application from any of the Chitkara Information Centres. Below are the steps to follow while applying:

1. Fill all the mandatory fields in the form
2. Affix a recent passport-size photo
3. Enclose the copies of documents (Class 10, Class 12 and graduation)
4. Enclose a DD against the application fee in favour of ‘Chitkara University’ payable at Chandigarh
5. Send the complete form to the below address through post:

Option 2: Download the application form, brochure, fee information for offline submission and follow the below steps:

1. Take a print out of the application form available at institute’s online application portal (https://admissions.chitkara.edu.in/login)
2. And follow the same steps as mentioned in the first option

Option 3: Apply online followed by the below are the steps:

1. Open the online application portal
2. Enter complete details
3. Upload copies of documents (Class 10, Class 12 and graduation)
4. Pay the application fee online and submit the form

Note: The application process is of around 15-20 minutes. Candidates can save their application form in between and complete later. In case candidates don't have their documents ready, they can send the same on a later date.
