Girijananda Chowdhury Institute of Management and Technology (GMIT) is affiliated to Assam Science and Technology University and is located at Hathhhowapara, Azara, Guwahati. It was established in 2006 and has approval from the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi and the entire course is run under the Affiliation of Assam Science & Technology University, Guwahati.

• BTech admissions are based on the Combined Entrance Examination (CEE) and JEE Main
• BCA and BBA admissions are based on merit
• For MTech, applicants need to qualify Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) or GIMT selection test (Applicants with GATE are given preference and not required to appear in GIMT selection test)
• MBA admissions, applicants are required to qualify CAT/MAT/ATMA/CMAT followed by GD & PI or GIMT selection Test for MBA followed by GD & PI

For BTech admissions, applicants must have passed Higher Secondary examination of AHSEC or equivalent and need 45% with English, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics as a subject, (40% for SC/ST).

• For BCA admission will be based on merit with 10+2 in Science/Arts/Commerce with 45% aggregate (40% reserved category) with Computer Science/ Mathematics or Diploma in CSE/IT from AICTE recognized Institute
• For BBA admissions are based on merit with 10+2 in Arts, Commerce, Science with 45% aggregate (40% reserved category)

For MTech Applicants need BE/BTech or equivalent in Engineering or relevant field with 50% marks at qualifying exams (45% SC and ST)

• For MCA applicants need 10+2+3 with 50% in aggregate and must have Mathematics in 10+2
• For MBA applicants need Bachelor’s degree from an Indian/Foreign University (recognized by UGC/AIU) with 50% in Major subject (45% for SC/ST/OBC/other reserved category)

GIMT offers PhD in Business Administration, Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering

• PhD Admission is based on the entrance test conducted by GIMT twice in a year i.e. December-January and June-July

For all courses, applicants can apply in two modes of online mode and offline mode

1. Online mode: Applicants can go to the official website of GIMT to apply online
2. Offline mode: Applicants can visit the admission cell for collecting the prospectus and application form. The prospectus is priced at Rs 300

To apply online-

1. Applicants will be required to create an account by filling mandatory information that includes Degree, Course, First name, last name, mobile number and E-mail ID
2. After account creation, go for payment that can be done by digital payment method
3. Now Login with credentials with ‘Login to Apply’ and start applying by filling all provided tabs
4. Softcopy/Digital copy of recent passport size photograph should be in jpg format only, with size between 20KB to 50KB
5. Scanned copy of your FULL Signature signed with Black Ink in the white background that should be between 20KB to 50KB and the signature should be visible in jpg format only.
6. After final Submission, download the application form that will be required at the time of counselling/admission

• GIMT – BOSCH Joint Certification Training Centre has been opened at the premises. GIMT is providing the infrastructure and the machines while BOSCH is providing the expertise
