Inaugurated by Smt. Indira Gandhi (the then Minister for Information and Broadcasting) in 1965, Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC), Delhi is an autonomous institution. It is supported by the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting of the Government of India and has developed various regional centres situated in Dhenkanal, Kottayam, Aizwal, Amravati, and Jammu.
IIMC Delhi offers a diploma course in Development Journalism to mid-career journalists from non-aligned and developing countries. Students can also enroll in several PG diploma programmes that are offered across five specialisations in Delhi. The institute also extends training for the Indian Information Service, as a noteworthy feature. The institute also offers short-term courses on media relations and engagement and Public relations. IIMC Delhi is approved by UGC which has granted the LOI to IIMC Delhi for becoming a deemed to be university in the future. The modes of the Indian Institute of Mass Communication admission 2022 are online and offline. The selection of candidates is based on their performance in the Computer Based Test (CBT) at different centres conducted by NTA followed by GD and PI round*. At the PG level, IIMC Delhi offers one-year PG diploma courses in five specialisations. The institute also offers short-term one-week to 12-week courses on media relations and engagement, Public relations for officials of various departments of the Government of India, PSUs, and Armed Forces. IIMC also provides a four-month diploma in Development Journalism. There is a single application process for admission to IIMC for all its campuses. Note: Total fee is calculated on the basis of fee available for 2021, hence is indicative. The above fee includes a contribution to the Students’ Welfare Fund of INR 3,500 and a refundable Library Deposit of INR 5,000.
IIMC Delhi Courses and Fee
The candidates must pay an application fee of INR 1,000 for each course and INR 750 for OBC/ SC/ ST. The admission for diploma in Development Journalism is organised twice a year: from January to April and from August to December every year. IIMC Delhi has organised 692 short-term courses, seminars, and workshops and trained over 14,496 persons from India and abroad. For IIMC New Delhi Admission 2021, candidates can apply through both online as well as offline modes. NRI category candidates must also send a DD worth US$ 50 in favour of the IIMC Delhi as a group discussion and interview fee along with the application form. IIMC Delhi has well-equipped sound & TV studios and other audio-visual facilities. There are air-conditioned classrooms with projectors and other teaching aids. The other facilities include computer labs, multimedia systems, video editing systems, clip video cameras, training software like Adobe Page-Maker, Quark Express, Corel Draw, Adobe Photoshop, Macromedia Director, Adobe InDesign, Cool Edit Pro, and many more. IIMC Delhi has digital ENG cameras, SFX generators, a multicamera studio set-up, along with camera control units with sync, editing consoles, etc.
The institute's recording and editing and non-linear digital video editing systems are the best. IIMC has extensive facilities and has over two dozen DSLR cameras. The auditorium has 400 plus seating capacity. | Admission Details | IIMC Delhi fifth merit list is released. Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) Delhi admission is based on marks obtained in graduation, Class 12 and Class 10. However, due to recent pandemic conditions in the country and no final aggregate of Class 12 being available, the deemed-to-be university has decided to conduct a remote online entrance exam for granting admission to students. This test is being conducted and proctored by NTA (National Testing Agency).
IIMC Delhi offers postgraduate diploma courses in English Journalism, Hindi Journalism, Language Journalism, Radio, TV Journalism, and, Advertising Public Relations. The institute also offers short-term courses on media relations and engagement, and Public relations for officials of various departments of the Government of India, PSUs, and Armed forces. | College CutOff | IIMC Delhi has released a fifth merit list for its PG Diploma. In 2021, the total number of applicants was 5345, out of which 4599 appeared for the IIMC entrance test. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, this year there would be no interview and group discussion for admission to PG Diploma courses. The merit list is based on the scores of students in the IIMC entrance test conducted by the institute. The first merit list of the IIMC PG Diploma course was published on September 20, 2021, on its official website. This merit list contains the names and roll numbers of 464 candidates who have qualified for the PG Diploma course with respect to different choices filled by students in the IIMC application form.
