Indian Institute of Hotel Management and Culinary Arts, also known as IIHMCA Hyderabad, is a private institute that was established in 2001 in Habshiguda, Hyderabad. This Institute is affiliated to Osmania University. The University is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and also a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). The Institute is approved by the Andhra Pradesh State Council for Higher Education and State Board of Technical Education and Training, Hyderabad. It is accredited to the Educational Institute of American Hotel and Lodging Association (EIAHLA), USA and also a member of the International Council on Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Education, USA.

Currently, it offers UG and certificate courses in various specialisations of Hotel Management and Culinary Arts. Apart from this, it also gives an opportunity to the students to work with top hotels through industrial training. Students need to undergo industrial training for a period of four months between December & April and the training would be provided in the major five-star hotels across India.

One of the important factors of this Institute is the student-faculty ratio. It holds a student-faculty ratio of 10:1. The campus of the Institute is spread across 40,000 sqft with basic facilities, including basic training kitchen, quantity training kitchen, lecture rooms, computer lab, front office lab, training restaurant, audio-visual hall, smart classrooms, cafeteria, guest bedroom, hostels and more.

It offers UG programmes in affiliation with Osmania University, whereas certificate course is offered in affiliation with AP State Board of Technical Education and Training. UG Courses

• Admission to BCT&CA and BHM&CT programmes is based on Common Entrance Examination (CEE), conducted by IIHMCA Hyderabad
• A candidate must have completed Class 12 from a recognised board to apply for UG programmes
• Final selection of students is based on the CEE scores

Certificate Course

• Admission to certificate course is done on merit-basis
• Candidates, who have completed Class 10, can apply for certificate course

At the UG level, the Institute offers a Bachelor’s Degree in Catering Technology & Culinary Arts and a Bachelor’s Degree in Hotel Management & Catering Technology. The duration of both programmes is three years. The degree of UG courses will be awarded by Osmania University. Apart from these courses, it also offers a one and a half year certificate course in Food Production and Patisserie.
