International Maritime Institute Admission Process 2021

International Maritime Institute admission cycle differs for every pre-sea and post-sea course and can be checked through IMI's website. The interested candidates can fill out an online registration form available on the website to apply for admission. BTech and DNS applicants are additionally required to register on the IMU's website as well. Candidates with prior sea-service experience can apply directly to the post-sea courses offered by IMI. International Maritime Institute Courses

IMI offers various courses at pre-sea and post-sea level. The duration of all pre-sea courses is one year, except for BTech, which is a four-year programme. The post-sea courses, on the other hand, are much shorter in duration ranging from one to 15 days, depending on the nature of the training. 4 months followed by 6 months onboard training 

IMI also accepts lateral entry admission to BTech programme. To be eligible, a candidate must have passed Diploma in Mechanical Engineering/ Marine Engineering from any government-approved institution with minimum 60% aggregate. The diploma should have been completed within the stipulated period of three years. The candidates should also have secured 50% aggregate in English at Class 10/ Class 12/ diploma level. The maximum age to apply is 25 years and the eyesight must be in line with DG Shipping medical standards.

International Maritime Institute Admission 2021: Post-Sea Courses

IMI post-sea courses can be pursued by any maritime professional with prior sea-service experience. These courses are recognised by the Standards of Training Certification and Watchkeeping (STCW). Indian National Database of Seafarers (INDoS) is mandatory for all candidates which they may apply through IMI at least a month before the commencement of the course.
