The Manipal Centre for European Studies (MCES) was established in 2009 to develop the relations with Europe by strengthening the educational enterprise which leads to an exchange of knowledge & information to augment the humankind. The centre is funded by the Delegation of European Union to India and is also known as the leading centre for European Studies in India. The centre has various collaborations with reputed universities in European countries and is a host to various visiting faculty from abroad every year.

The college offers a postgraduate course in European Studies. The admission guidelines for the programmes are:

• For Indian nationals, applications are open only in General category and for foreign candidates and NRIs, the applications are open in Foreign/NRI category
• Candidates must have a minimum aggregate of 50% in bachelor’s degree, and based on merit list

The idea behind developing the curriculum is to provide a holistic view of Europe and European Union institutions from political, economic, cultural, social and linguistic perspectives. To augment the linguistic perspective, the college provides an opportunity to learn a European language, including French, German and Spanish.
