Manipal School of Life Sciences (MSLS) was established in 2002, and became an autonomous college in 2006. It is known as one of the top biotechnological institutes of the country, and is identified as TIFAC-CORE (Technology Information, Forecasting & Assessment Council - Centres of Relevance & Excellence) by the Government of India. The college is supported by various agencies of the Government of India such as DBT, ICMR, DST, BRNS, and by other industry partners.

 Manipal School of Life Sciences Admission Process

The admission to programs offered at the college varies depending on the course and its level.

• For admission in BSc, candidates must have secured a minimum aggregate of 55% marks in Class 12, and on the basis of merit list
• For admission in MSc, candidates must have a minimum aggregate of 50% marks in bachelor’s degree and a positive score in Manipal Entrance Test

The college offers degree at both UG and PG level. Further, there are various specializations offered at both UG and PG level.  BSc is offered in three specializations’, namely- Biotechnology, Food & Nutrition, and Forensic Science. And MSc is offered in five specializations’, namely- Research in Life Sciences, Medical Biotechnology, Molecular Biology & Human Genetics, Systems Biology, and Genome Engineering.
