Founded in the year 2001, National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), Aizawl was earlier known as DOEACC Centre, Aizawl. NIELIT Aizawl CoursesNIELIT Aizawl offers 26 programmes across three main categories i.e. non-formal, formal and short-term courses. The short-term courses are Multimedia and CCC of 80 hours duration each. The DOEACC ‘O’ Level and DOEACC ‘A’ Level Computer Courses offered by this college are AICTE approved.

Students applying for courses like MCA, BCA, DETE and DETE courses can apply for scholarship to Mizoram Scholarship Board through the institution. The amount of scholarship offered is four times the examination fee paid per module by the students.

NIELIT Aizawl formal courses include diploma and degree programmes of three-years' duration. The degree programmes are affiliated to Mizoram University and diploma programmes are awarded by the Mizoram State Council for Technical Education. Candidates applying to these courses are required to meet the below-mentioned eligibility criteria and appear for an entrance test for final selection:
The institute also accepts lateral entry admission to MCA to candidates who have passed PG Diploma in Computer Application from any recognised university/institution with minimum 50% aggregate.
