NIPS School of Hotel Management, Shillong is one of the centers of NIPS School of Hotel Management. NIPS has four centers in Kolkata, Bhubaneswar, Shillong and Ranchi. It is a private institution which was established by the NIPS Hospitality Group and is approved by the All Indian Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and Ministry of HRD, Government of India. The institute is affiliated to Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT) and is accredited by the Indian Federation of Culinary Association (IFCA).

Currently, the institute offers UG, PG and diploma programmes in various fields of Hotel Management. To provide its students a global exposure, the institute has collaborated with OTHM Education London, UK approved teaching institute. Apart from this, NIPS is also an approved training partner of NSDC and an associated partner of PBSSD. In 2020, the institute was ranked 1st for Best International Placements by Black Swan Award. It was also ranked 1st among Eastern India by The Pioneer Newspaper and also won Asia’s Greatest Brands Award in the same year.

Apart from regular classes, the institute also conducts workshops with leading chefs such as Michelin Trained Star Chef Michael Swamy, Celeb Chef Moumita and Master Chef Judge Kunal Kapur. The institute also focuses on co-curricular activities and also conducts a Bartending Championship for students every year. The institute offers national and international courses with a faculty strength of 21 faculty members.

Admission to all UG, PG and diploma programmes is done on merit basis. Candidates need to apply online for the admission process. NIPS School of Hotel Management, Shillong admission process is conducted online through its official website. Candidates can register and fill an application form to apply for a particular programme.

UG Courses

• Admission to BHM, BHM + International Diploma, BSc and BSc + International Diploma is done on merit basis
• Candidates, who have completed Class 12 from a recognised board, can apply for UG courses

PG Courses

• Admission to MSc (Hotel Management) and MSc (Hospitality Management) + International Diploma is done on merit basis
• Candidates, who have completed bachelor’s degree from a recognised university, are eligible to apply for PG programmes

Additional Courses

• Admission to diploma programmes is done on merit basis
• Candidates, who have completed Class 10, can apply for diploma programmes

Currently, the institute offers eight different courses in Hospitality & Hotel Administration, Culinary Science, Hospitality Management and more. The courses offered by the institute are divided into two categories, national courses and international courses. BHM, BSc and MSc programmes are offered under national courses. BHM + International Diploma, BSc + International Diploma and MSc + International Diploma are international courses offered by the institute. Apart from this, the institute also offers a diploma in two different specialisations. Details regarding some of the programmes are mentioned below:

The institute assures 100% placement support under all national and international courses. Placements are conducted at the central level of NIPS School of Hotel Management.
