PESIT was established in 1998 as the engineering college by the PES group of institutions. Currently, the University has campuses in Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh.

PESIT campus boasts of providing students with world-class facilities such as Wi-Fi, Labs, Central Library, modern classroom, ports and many more. PESIT has four patents to its name- Adaptive multimodal communication assist system, Digital Circuit Emulation and Simulation using Support Vector Machine (SVM) Classifiers, An intelligent wearable device to recognize emotions in children with autism, Gesture-Based Tangible User Interface for Resource Management in distinct research domains.

At the Electronic City Campus, the University offers BTech and BBA at UG level and MBA and MTech at PG level. The University accepts admissions to several courses through the CET, PESSAT exam.
