Uttaranchal College of Science and Technology Dehradun (UCST Dehradun) was established in 2002 as one of the oldest self-financing institutes of Uttarakhand. The Institute is run and managed by its founding society known as Uttaranchal Progressive Educational Society. Uttaranchal College of Science and Technology, Dehradun is affiliated to HNB Garhwal University Srinagar (Garhwal) and Sri Dev Suman Uttarakhand University (SDSUV), and is approved by the Government of Uttarakhand. It offers education in various professional streams of education at undergraduate, postgraduate and doctorate levels. The Institute awards degrees in subjects such as Chemistry, Physics, Zoology, Botany, Environmental Science, Medicine, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Mass Communication, Management, Computer Science and Library Sciences.

UCST Dehradun has a total of 70 publications under its name and over seven PhD theses have been supervised in the campus. Team of 45 faculty members, who are highly-qualified and experienced, not only teach students but also transform them into industry-related professionals. The Institute encourages students to participate in various group discussions, sports participation, seminars, cultural programmes, personality development programmes and educational trips.

Uttaranchal College of Science and Technology admission process is conducted in online and offline modes. The application process for all the programmes begin in the month of May every year. All the students, whose results are awaited, can take provisional admission in the institute. UG Courses

• Admission to BSc, BBA, BBA and Bachelor of Library and Information Science (B.Lib.I.Sc) is based on merit in the last qualifying examination (Class 12 or equivalent), followed by a Personal Interview (PI) round to be held in the campus.

Uttaranchal College of Science and Technology Dehradun offers BCA, BSc, BBA and B.Lib.I.Sc at undergraduate level. With the exception of BCA, BBA and BSc IT where semester system is followed by the Institute, the BSc Biotechnology/ Microbiology/ Electronics or Instrumentation are based on pattern of annual examination pattern.

BSc is offered in six specialisations, namely Biotechnology, Microbiology, Agriculture, Information Technology, Forestry and Electronics/ Instrumentation. The duration of BSc (all specialisations) is three years, except for BSc (Agriculture/ Forestry) which is of four-year duration.

Selection criteria: Final selection is based on merit in Class 12 or equivalent examination, followed by PI.

Other than BSc, Uttaranchal College of Science and Technology also offers BCA, BBA and B.Lib.I.Sc as part of UG programmes. The duration of BCA and BBA is three years, whereas B.Lib.I.Sc is of one-year duration, respectively.

At postgraduate level, Uttaranchal College of Science and Technology offers MSc and MA as part of academic programmes. All the PG programmes include theory papers supported by extensive practical work.

UCST Dehradun offers MSc in 10 specialisations and MA in one specialisation. The duration of PG programmes is two years. The HNB Garhwal University (central university) introduced four-semester pattern for all the PG programmes.

Selection criteria: Final admission is based on merit in the graduation, followed by PI.

Uttaranchal College of Science and Technology Dehradun offers PhD programme, admission to which is governed by HNB Garhwal University and is awarded in the 11 fields education. The minimum course duration of PhD is three academic years for full-time scholars and four academic years for part-time research scholars. Selection criteria: Final admission is based on the scores obtained in the entrance exam conducted by UCST Dehradun. UGC NET/ CSIR NET qualified candidates are exempted from the entrance test and called directly for PI round.

For UCST application process 2021, candidates can apply in online mode, for admission to undergraduate, postgraduate and doctorate programmes. Candidates must bring their original documents along with attested photocopies of the same at the time of admission. UCET application form can be filled/ obtained in the following ways:

UCST Dehradun awards meritorious and economically weak students in the form of various scholarship schemes and fee concessions. The Institute offers the Mukesh Sawhney Memorial Scholarship for postgraduate students which claims to propose Rs 5,000 per month each to two of the most eligible students. This scholarship can only be availed post-completion of the course. For UG and PhD programmes, the Institute reserves seats under each programme for SC, ST, handicapped candidates, defense and para-military personnel as per the norms laid down by the Government of India (constitutional commitment of India).
