Vignan's Institute of Information Technology was established by Dr Lavu Rathaiah in the year 2002 in Visakhapatnam. The institute is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and is affiliated to the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Kakinada (JNTUK). Vignan's Institute of Information Technology is recognised as 8th Top Emerging Engineering College in India and 7th Top Engineering College in Andhra Pradesh. Vignan's Institute of Information Technology Scholarships

The Vignan's Institute of Information Technology scholarships are based on merit. The institute provides two types of scholarships schemes as follows:

Merit Scholarship: Meritorious students from all the branches are eligible. The first topper will get 100% tuition fee waiver, the second topper will get 75% tuition fee waiver and the third topper will get 50% tuition fee waiver. Students who are toppers at the department level are eligible to get a 50% tuition fee Means Scholarship: waiver. Secondly, it provides financial support to all the meritorious students who belong to the financially weak backgrounds. Means scholarship is offered only to 20 students whose family annual income is less than Rs 2 lakh.
