Established in 2010, Chitkara School of Art & Design is located at the campus of Chitkara University, Chandigarh. The University has a total of 12 departments under it, which are listed below:

Chitkara School of Art & Design offers full-time courses under the streams of Arts & Design and the popular courses of the School are BDes and BSc. Admissions to the School are based on the entrance exam as well as scores in Class 12 followed by PI round. It incorporates four levels of training, which include hands, eyes, mind and social conscience and additionally, imparts training related to the fundamental Art & Design skills. From the academic year 2020, Chitkara University has started assessing candidates for Fine Arts courses based on their scores obtained in Chitkara University D-Art Admission Test (D-Art/ CUDAT), which is India’s first comprehensive exam to enrol in creative and liberal education. It teaches how to design digital products by understanding the needs of users and creating a product roadmap to implement the rules of UX design. Candidates need to buy the application from any of the Chitkara Information Centres or download it from the official website, which is www.chitkara.edu.in and follow the steps mentioned below:

Step 1: Fill all the mandatory sections in the application form

Step 2: Affix a recent passport-size photograph

Step 3: Enclose the copies Class 10, Class 12 and graduation mark sheets and certificates

Step 4: Enclose a Demand Draft (DD) of Rs 1,100 (application fee) in the favour of ‘Chitkara University’ payable at Chandigarh

Step 5: Send the complete form along with the DD and documents to the below-mentioned address through post:

Step 1: Open the online application portal through the official website of Chitkara University

Step 2: Enter all the mandatory details in the given sections

Step 3: Upload copies of documents, such as mark sheets and certificates of Class 10/ Class 12/ graduation

Step 4: Pay the application fee online and submit the form 

Note: The application process takes around 15-20 minutes. Candidates can save their application form in between and complete later. In case candidates don't have their documents handy to submit, they can send the same at a later date.

Chitkara School of Art & Design scholarships are offered to the students from SC/ OBC categories under the post-matric scholarship scheme.
