The School of Journalism and Mass Communication (SJMC) is one of the eight schools of Apeejay Stya University (ASU), Gurugram. It is an on-campus school of the University, launched in 2012. It offers five programmes at Certificate, UG, PG and PhD level in the stream of Journalism and Mass Communication. The programmes are specifically designed to train students in the emerging fields of media, journalism, public relations, advertising, corporate communication and entertainment industry. They are structured to equip aspiring students to work for various platforms, such as Television, Radio/FM, Advertising, Public Relations, Event Management, Newspaper/Magazine and Digital Media. SJMC has received the ‘Best RJ Link for EV-AIR’ award for their programme 'Cyber Abuse Stop It!' (a campaign aimed at digital safety of children) at the UNICEF Radio4child Awards.

The School has a fully operational studio with professional cameras and autocue for anchoring, editing lab with FCP machines, internet radio called Styavani and ASU Express for print media students. It also has international collaborations with reputed colleges and universities, including Georgia College, ACCA, NSE and Normandy Business School.

SJMC, Apeejay Stya University admission to all UG and PG programmes is based on a candidate's performance in an entrance test conducted by ASU, followed by a Personal Interview (PI) round. Admission to the certificate programme in Community Radio, however, is offered directly on a first-come, first-serve basis. SJMC offers five courses at UG and PG level. These include BA (Hons), MA and PhD of four, two and three-year duration, respectively. SJMC application process is available online as well as offline. The application fee for all the programmes is Rs 1,100. For online application, candidates are required to apply through ASU's official website (university.apeejay.edu). Click on 'Apply Online' and follow the below-mentioned steps to complete the application process:

1. On ASU's application portal, register with candidate's details such as name, email address, mobile number, etc.

2. Acknowledge the verification mail and sign in with the same credentials. Click on 'Apply Now' under 'Online Application Form' on the new page that opens up

3. Select the desired course and enter the candidate's personal details such as name, mobile number, age, nationality, gender, etc.

4. Enter the details of the candidate's corresponding address and click on 'Save & Next'

6. Review the payment details and click on 'Make Payment'. Pay the application fee of Rs 1,116 (including handling charges) via debit card/ credit card/ net banking/ UPI

For offline application, candidates can download the application form from the website, under the 'Admissions' tab. A duly filled in form should be submitted along with necessary documents and a Demand Draft of Rs 1,100 drawn in favour of “Apeejay Stya Education Foundation”, payable at New Delhi.
