BArch Eligibility

To study a full-time BArch programme, candidates must fulfil the eligibility requirements given below:

  • Candidates must have passed their 10+2 examination or equivalent with Mathematics as one of the subjects.
  • They must have secured a minimum of 50% marks (45% marks for reserved category) in 10+2 or
  • Should have passed 10+3 Diploma (any stream) recognised by Central/State governments with 50% aggregate marks or
  • Should have completed their International Baccalaureate Diploma, after 10 years of schooling, with not less than 50% marks in aggregate and with Mathematics as compulsory subject of examination.

  • National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) - One of the most popular architecture exams in India, NATA is conducted twice annually to give the eligibility factor for BArch admissions into the colleges. However, no common counselling is not conducted and the candidates will have to individually apply to their preferred colleges. 
  • JEE Main Paper 2 - Conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), JEE Main Paper 2 is the gateway for BArch admissions into NITs, IIITs and GFTIs and also various private colleges.
  • Architecture Aptitude Test (AAT) - To be eligible for AAT, the candidates will have to qualify JEE Advanced 2021. Qualified candidates will have the chance for admission into the BArch courses offered by IITs.

Q. What is the minimum score required in the 10+2 examination to be eligible for this Course?

A. Candidate shall be admitted to architecture course only if she/ he has passed an examination at the end of the 10+2 scheme of examination with at least 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics and also at least 50% marks in aggregate of the 10+2 level examination.

Q. If I get my class 12 paper re-checked, will it affect my chances of admission?

A. No. However, after receiving the final marks, you have to be eligible to apply and you must submit your final 12th Std. mark sheet before the Merit List is announced.

A. National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) is conducted by the Council of Architecture. The test is required for admissions to the first year of 5-year BArch degree course at all institutes/ schools/colleges of Architecture in India
