BLS LLB or Bachelor of Legal Science & Bachelor of Legislative Law is a five years integrated course in law which aspirants can pursue right after their Class 12. BLS LLB course is similar to BA LLB and BBA LLB course in the view that candidates receive two separate degrees on completion of the course, which is, BLS as well as LLB. However, the only difference between these law courses is that in a BLS LLB course aspirants are taught all the topics from a legal point of view right from the beginning which is not the case in a BA LLB or a BBA LLBΒ course.
In the first two years of a BLS LLB course, aspirants are taught subjects such as Economics, History, Political Science,Β English and Legal Language and in the remaining three years of the course, candidates are taught subjects like Contracts, Constitution, Family law,Β Labour Laws etc.
As part of an integrated BLS LLB course, candidates have imparted education not only through classroom teaching methods but also by means of case studies and moot courts.Β
BLS LLB Eligibility CriteriaΒCandidates are eligible to pursue a BLS LLB course if they have completed their 10+2 from a recognised board. Apart from this, most popular law colleges also fix an additional (minimum) marks requirement that candidates need to fulfil in order to be eligible to apply for BLS LLB course offered by them. Thus, candidates belonging to General/ OBC/ Specially abled person categories need to secure at least 45% marks at their 10+2 level in order to pursue a BLS LLB course and the minimum percentage fixed for SC/ ST category is 40%.
There are no age limit criteria that candidates need to fulfil in order to apply for BLS LLB course admissions.
