MVA

MVA or Master of Visual Arts is a postgraduate course in the field of visual arts. MVA course is usually of two years duration. As part of a MVA course candidates are taught subjects such as dance, theatre, painting, sculpture making, photography, architecture and the likes. In a MVA course aspirants are educated to develop a better understanding of visual arts and culture. Apart from this, theories related to curatorship, art programming and organisational management are also taught to candidates.

In a MVA course candidates can specialise in fields such as Communication Design, Drawing and Painting, Interior Design, Fashion Design, Printmaking, Sculpture, Art History, Ceramics, Fibers, New Media Art, Photography, Watercolor, etc.

Candidates are eligible to apply for a MVA course if they have cleared their graduation degree with passing marks from a recognised university/ institute. Usually candidates who possess a bachelor’s degree in the specialisation they opt for in their MVA course are preferred for admission.
