The TERI School of Advanced Studies conducts TERI University Entrance Exam in order to shortlist aspirants for admission in programmes offered by the varsity. TERI University offers various undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes which are offered at the varsity. Candidates can take admission in the fields of Environment, Law, Business Administration and Engineering. Candidates need to meet the eligibility criteria before applying for admission, which will be followed by appearing for the TERI University Entrance Exam. Admission to the university is done through an entrance exam and interview/group discussion. The duration of the TERI University Entrance Exam is one hour and the mode of the exam is offline i.e. pen and paper test.

Candidates need to meet the TERI University Entrance Exam eligibility criteria if they possess MSc/MA/MPhil or equivalent educational qualification in a relevant field (depending on the course in which they have applied for admission). The eligibility criteria is as follows: 

MSc (Climate Science and Policy)

Candidates meet TERI School of Advanced Studies eligibility criteria for MSc (Climate Science and Policy) course if they possess a Bachelor's degree in Science/Engineering/Economics/Mathematics/Statistics/Geology /Geography with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 6.75 on a 10 point scale or equivalent, as determined by TERI University, wherever letter grades are awarded, or 60% marks in aggregate, wherever marks are awarded. For candidates with bachelor's degree in Humanities (eg Economics/Geography), a relaxation of 5%/0.75 Cumulative Grade Point Average could be allowed.

MSc (Environmental Studies and Resource Management)

Candidates meet TERI University eligibility criteria for MSc (Environmental Studies and Resource Management) course if they possess a Bachelor's degree in Science/Engineering/Economics/Mathematics/Statistics/Geology/Geography with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 6.75 on a 10 point scale or equivalent, as determined by TERI University, wherever letter grades are awarded, or 60% marks in aggregate, wherever marks are awarded. For candidates with bachelor's degree in Humanities (eg Economics/Geography), a relaxation of 5%/0.75 Cumulative Grade Point Average could be allowed.

MSc (Geoinformatics)

Candidates meet TERI University eligibility criteria for MSc (Geoinformatics) course if they possess a bachelor's degree in Science/Engineering/B.Arch/ Economics/Mathematics/Statistics / Geology.

MSc (Plant Biotechnology)

Candidates meet TERI University eligibility criteria for MSc (Plant Biotechnology) course if they possess a bachelor's degree in Sciences/Engineering/Technology

MSc (Economics) – with a specialisation in Environmental & Resource Economics

Candidates meet TERI University eligibility criteria for MSc (Economics) – with a specialisation in Environmental & Resource Economics if they fulfill any one of the below-mentioned criteria:

• BA (Hons)/BSc (Hons) in Economics with 50% or more marks in aggregate (CGPA of 5.65)
• Bachelor degree in any other discipline with at least 60% marks in aggregate (CGPA of 6.75). The applicant must have studied mathematics either at 10+2 level or at Bachelor's level, either as a subsidiary or as honours.

Candidates need to follow the admission process which is mentioned in a step by step process.

Step 1: Fill TERI University Entrance Exam Application Form

Candidates can fill and submit the application form for TERI University admission online or offline. Candidates can pay the application fee for TERI University Entrance Exam online application form through credit card or debit card. On the other hand, the fee for the offline application form needs to be paid by means of a Demand Draft.

Step 2: TERI University Admit card

Students who have successfully registered, filled and submitted the application form can avail the TERI University admit card once released. The admit card is sent to candidates on their registered email address (as was mentioned by the candidate in their application form). The admit card is an important document which needs to be carried to the exam centre. 

Step 3: Appear for TERI University Online Exam

Candidates need to appear for TERI University online entrance test as per the schedule (date and time) mentioned on their admit card for the exam. TERI University Entrance Exam comprises of 100 multiple choice questions which candidates need to attempt in one-hour duration.

Step 4: Appear for Interview Round

Candidates who are shortlisted on the basis of their marks, need to appear for the interview round after the entrance test for TERI University admissions is conducted.

Step 5: Check TERI University Result

Once the interview round is conducted for all programmes, TERI University will release a merit list with the names of candidates who have been shortlisted. Candidates need to complete the admission process by appearing for the counselling session.

The TERI University Entrance Exam official dates for the 2021 academic year have been released and the entrance exam will be conducted on June 5, 2021, and June 6, 2021. The application window for applying online opened on November 15, 2020. The last date to submit the application form for the TERI University Entrance exam is till May 28, 2021. Candidates who have successfully registered and applied, will receive their admit card on their registered email IDs.

Application Form: The TERI University Entrance Exam application forms were released online on the official website of TERI University from November 15, 2020 onwards. The last date to fill the application form is till May 28, 2021. Candidates are advised to check the eligibility criteria before applying for the desired course which is offered at the university. Candidates will not be able to register and apply after the last date as mentioned.

Admit Card: Candidates who successfully apply for TERI University Entrance Exam, will receive their admit card via email. Candidates can download the admit card and are advised to keep it safely. The admit card will be released a week before the entrance exam is scheduled. The admit card is an important document which needs to be carried to exam centre. Without the admit card, candidates will not be allowed to appear for the entrance exam.

TERI University Entrance Exam: The TERI University Entrance Exam will be conducted on June 5 and June 6, 2021, for other programmes. The entrance exam will be conducted in offline mode which is pen and paper test. The entrance exam will be in MCQ format and the duration of the entrance exam is 1 Hour.

Results for Interview/GD: Once the entrance exam has been conducted, candidates will be called by the university to appear for the interview and group discussion round for MBA is from June 7 to June 8, 2021. For other courses, the interview and group discussion round will take place on June 21 to June 24, 2021.

Final Results: Candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of their entrance exam marks and marks secured in the group discussion and interview round. A merit list will be released which will have the names of students who have cleared and are eligible for admission at the university.
