North East Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS), Shillong will held mop up round counselling on April 1 for allocation of 1 seat. The counselling will be held in offline mode from 11 am onwards at Conference Room Director's Administrative block. The second round Meghalaya NEET 2021 counselling result was announced on March 9. The second round counselling for Meghalaya MBBS admission 2021 was conducted on March 7 via video conferencing to fill 4 seats. 

Unlike other state quota counselling, Meghalaya NEET counselling 2021 is conducted in an offline mode. Starting from the application process to the confirmation of admission, everything will be conducted in an offline mode only. Candidates must note that admission to the state quota seats of Meghalaya will be done on the basis of marks obtained in NEET 2021. Candidates who do not qualify for this entrance test will not be eligible to participate in the counselling of Meghalaya MBBS 2021.

March 9, 2022: Second round seat allotment list released for Meghalaya NEET 2021 counselling

Domicile: Candidate must be domiciled in the state of Meghalaya and must possess a Permanent Resident Certificate. Exceptions to the above rule are:

• Children of employees of the Central/State/UT Government or All India Services currently posted in Meghalaya
• Children of employees of the Central/State/UT Government on deputation to Meghalaya

Age: The candidate must have completed the age of 17 years as on December 30, 2021.

Qualification: The candidate must have passed Class XII or equivalent from a recognised institute/board with Biology, Chemistry, Physics and English as core subjects. Those awaiting the result of class XII or equivalent can also apply for the counselling of Meghalaya MBBS 2021. However, the admission of such candidates will be provisional and subject to the marks obtained in the qualifying examination.

Candidates who wish to participate in the counselling of Meghalaya NEET 2021 will have to fill an offline application form. The last date to submit application form is December 14 by 5 pm. As per the prospectus, the duly filled up application forms can be placed in an envelope and dropped in at the box placed outside the Examination Cell, Director’s Block, NEIGRIHMS within the given deadline. The application form can be submitted by speed post as well. The application form will be submitted only when the exam fee is paid. Candidates will have to pay non-refundable INR 500 as application fee through bank challan. Candidates are advised to submit the original challan (NEIGRIHMS Copy) along with the Meghalaya MBBS application form and must keep the original challan (candidate’s copy) as proof of payment.

The competent authority will then release a list of all the candidates who had registered for the counselling of Meghalaya MBBS 2021 and were found to be eligible for it. This list will be available both online and offline. Candidates are advised to check the official websites regularly for such updates.

Candidates who have been included in the above list will have to report to any of the two screening centres, given below, on the designated date and time.

They need to carry all their certificates and documents in original to these centres. Only after the verification is carried out successfully will the candidate become eligible for the seat allotment process.

If a candidate fails to report to the above address before the deadline, his/her nomination will be cancelled and the seat will be allotted to the next eligible candidate.

All candidates who have been nominated through the counselling of Meghalaya MBBS 2021 are required to sign a security bond with the Government of Meghalaya. Under this agreement, such candidates will have to serve the rural population for a period of 5 years after completing the MBBS degree. Violation of the bond/agreement will lead to a penalty of Rs 10 lakh. The bond should be executed on a Non-judicial Stamp of Rs 30. Candidates participating in the Meghalaya MBBS counselling 2021 will be applying for the seats offered by the North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS). Out of the total 50 seats in NEIGRIHMS, only nine seats are reserved for the local students. Reservation criteria for NEIGRIHMS is as follows:
