Summary:

AP NEET counselling 2021 process is expected to begin anytime. On November 23, 2021, the conducting body has released the AP NEET 2021 Rank List. Andhra Pradesh NEET 2021 counselling is managed by Dr NTR University of Health Sciences (NTRUHS), Vijaywada. Admission into the MBBS and BDS programme to the state quota seats of Andhra Pradesh will be based on the marks obtained in NEET 2021. No official dates have been announced regarding the counselling process by the MCC and NTRUHS. It is speculated that the conducting body can release the application forms anytime soon. 

The merit list is based on NEET-UG 2021 data issued by the Director-General of Health Services, Ministry of Health, Government of India. The Cut Off Marks are 138 for General Category as per the AP NEET State Ranks 2021, and 108 for BC, SC, ST, including PwD, and 122 for General PwD.

Dr Ntr University Of Health Sciences will offer the provisional merit position after receiving the online applications. Once the candidates' documents have been verified, the final merit list will be revealed.

AP NEET Counselling 2021: Eligibility Criteria

AP NEET counselling requires a different sort of eligibility. Candidates should ensure that they fulfil all the required eligibility criteria mentioned below:

  • Candidate must have qualified NEET 2021
  • The candidate must be a citizen of India. PIO/OCI candidates can also apply for AP NEET 2021 counselling.
  • The candidate must have passed Class 12 or equivalent from a recognised board/institute. Also, the core subjects in this qualifying examination should be Biology, Chemistry, English and Physics.

Local and Non-local candidates

Those who fall under the local candidates' category will apply for the 15% unreserved seats and the 85% reserved seats. In contrast, those under the non-local category can apply for the 15% unreserved seats only.

Candidates who wish to apply for Andhra Pradesh NEET counselling 2021 as local candidates will have to meet the following criteria concerning the local area.

Applicants have studied for a period of four years consecutively in that area: the last year being the year of the qualifying examination,

Andhra Pradesh NEET Counselling 2021: Application Form

To participate in the counselling of AP NEET 2021, the candidates must register on the official website of NTRUHS. The counselling application forms can be accessed in online mode only. The application forms can be filled using Internet Explorer (11 version), Google Chrome, or Mozilla Firefox (latest version). Candidates must also keep their mobile phones before filling the application (for OTP).

The process for registration has been given below:

  1. Go to the official website of NTRUHS, apmedadm.ntruhs.ap.gov.in
  2. Click on 'Online Registration
  3. Enter the following details:
    • NEET 2021 roll number
    • NEET 2021 rank
    • Date of birth
    • Mobile number
  4. Enter the security code and select 'Validate.'
  5. The registration is now complete. Note down the registration number for future reference.
  6. Login using NEET 2021 roll number and AP NEET registration number
  7. Complete the application form by filling in all the details
  8. Pay the application fee
  9. Take a printout of the submitted application form

Verification of the Documents

After completing the application form, candidates must print out the final version and paste a recent passport-sized photograph in the space provided.

The hard copy of the AP NEET counselling 2021 application form must be carried along with all the other documents to the verification centre. They must carry at least three attested copies of their documents for verification.

State Merit List

NTRUHS will release the final merit list for the counselling of AP NEET 2021 after completing the verification process. The state merit list will include the names of only those candidates whose documents have been verified successfully. This merit list will be used for seat allotment in AP NEET counselling 2021.

Web Counselling

Web counselling or choice filling is how a candidate chooses their desired course/college. To register the choices online, a candidate needs to log in to the registered account on the official website of NTRUHS. They can then choose their desired course/college from the list provided. There is no limit to the number of choices one can fill in the preference form. Candidates are thus advised to fill in as many choices as they can in the preference form.

Seat Allotment List

NTRUHS prepares the seat allotment list of the selected candidates. The seats are allotted based on the choices filled by the candidates and the ranks obtained by them in the state merit list. Selected candidates have to report to the allotted institute to confirm their admission. The seats that are left vacant after the completion of the reporting phase will be carried forward to the next round.

Salient Features of the Andhra Pradesh NEET Counselling

After the result announcement and the release of the cutoff list, Medical and Dental colleges across Andhra Pradesh will start their Andhra Pradesh NEET counselling process. The Andhra Pradesh NEET counselling is scheduled to be held in various rounds such as Round 1, Round 2 and Round 3 or mop-up round (if the seats are left vacant). After the completion of Andhra Pradesh NEET counselling round wise, various institutes also conduct their counselling at the college level to fill the remaining vacant seats (if any).

To participate in the AP NEET counselling 2021, candidates have to register themselves first. Registration for Andhra Pradesh NEET counselling can be done online and the registration form various rounds is available on the official website of NTRUHS. The Andhra Pradesh NEET counselling applications is likely to start in the third week of December (tentatively).

AP NEET counselling registration is considered and accepted only after the payment of the registration fee. After the successful submission of the NEET counselling registration form, the conducting body will release the list of the registered candidates whose applications will be accepted.

The candidates whose names will be on the list then have to report to the document verification centres if needed otherwise the documents verification will be done online. After the document verification process, the candidates have to fill their choice of colleges priority-wise. A provisional merit list of shortlisted candidates will be then released for the first round of seat allotment.

After this, the subsequent counselling rounds will take place depending upon the cutoff and availability of seats.

Q: How the vacant seats are filled (if any)?

A: Vacant seats are transferred to the institute quota after the first and second rounds of counselling. Such seats are then filled by conducting institute-wise counselling.

Q: When the AP NEET 2021 counselling will begin?

A: AP NEET 2021 counselling process has started on November 23, 2021. The competent authority i.e. NTRUHS is about to release the schedule after the announcement of the NEET 2021 result. The State-wise NEET counselling will begin after the centralised counselling.

Q: What is meant by Free Exit for AP NEET counselling?

A: If a candidate is allotted a seat in round one of NEET 2021 counselling but fails to report to the institute allotted within the stipulated time, he/she shall not be penalised for it. The candidate will be eligible to participate in the next round of counselling. This is called a Free Exit.
