CSAB 2022 registrations and choice filling are likely to begin in August. Candidates will need to visit the official website to complete the CSAB 2022 registrations. CSAB will release the list of vacant seats in July 2022. A link will also be provided below for candidates to register for the counselling as well as to know the number of vacant seats after the JoSAA 2022 Counselling. CSAB 2022 important dates will be released by the Central Seat Allocation Board on the official website along with the official information brochure. Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) will also provide the registration window for North Eastern Union Territory (NEUT) tentatively in July for Engineering, Architecture and Pharmacy streams. The dates for filling the choices will be different for these streams.

Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB), earlier known as Central Counselling Board (CCB), is constituted by the Government of India to coordinate admissions to UG degree programmes in engineering, technology and architecture in NITs, IIESTs, IIITs and GFTIs. Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) are not the participating institutes of CSAB 2022 counselling. Through CSAB counselling, the candidates can apply for vacant seats available in UG courses offered by the participating institutes. Candidates who have already participated in JoSAA or did not register for JoSAA counselling are eligible to take part in CSAB special round.

Candidates appearing in CSAB 2022 special rounds counselling can check the eligibility criteria below:

Rule-1: Candidates, who have not registered for JoSAA counselling but are eligible as per their JEE Main rank, are allowed to register for CSAB special round.

Rule-2: Candidates who have registered for JoSAA and were allocated a seat in any of Round 1 to 6 are eligible to participate in the special round of CSAB.

Rule-3: Candidates who have registered for JoSAA and were not allocated a seat in any of the Round 1 to 6 are eligible for the CSAB special round.

Rule-4: Candidates who have accepted the seat and paid the partial admission fee through JoSAA can also participate in CSAB.

Rule-5: Candidates who have opted for “Not to Participate in Special Round” at the time of reporting are not eligible for CSAB.

Candidates will be required to make fresh registrations for CSAB 2022 counselling. Registrations made for JoSAA 2022 counselling will not be considered for CSAB special rounds. The online CSAB 2022 registration process for special rounds can be checked below:

Step-1: Visit the official website of CSAB: csab.nic.in

Step-2: Enter your JEE Main Roll Number and other required details for registration. Update some details such as State of Eligibility, Gender, Nationality and Category.

Step-3: Upload the scanned copy of the documents mentioned below

Step-4: Pay the participation or processing fee and confirm the registration.

At the time of registration, the candidates have to enter the Bank Account details such as Name in the bank account, Bank Name, Account Number and IFSC code for any refund from CSAB.

Before registering for the CSAB special rounds, all candidates must be ready with the scanned copy of the following documents. The documents listed below will be required to be uploaded at the time of registration.

• Class 10 Certificate
• Class 12 Certificate or Mark Sheet
• Category Certificate (applicable for ST, SC, OBC-NCL, Gen-EWS)
• PwD Certificate (if applicable)
• State of Eligibility Certificate (applicable for candidates who passed Class 12th from outside India)
• PwD Candidates will have to upload an Affidavit

Note: In the case of OBC-NCL/EWS category, the certificate must be issued on or after April 01, 2022

The registration fee to participate in the CSAB 2022 special round counselling is as follows

After the online registration, candidates will be required to fill their choices of engineering branches and institutes out of NIT/IIIT/GFTI as per the vacant seats available. The vacant seat data after JoSAA Round-6 was displayed on the CSAB portal on November 16, 2022. The choices filled by candidates during JoSAA counselling are not acceptable, and candidates will have to fill fresh choices for CSAB 2022 special rounds counselling. There is no limit on the number of choices filled by the candidates. After filling the choices, the candidates will have to ‘Save’ & ‘Lock’ the choices so that the seat allotment result shall be processed.

After the choice filling, two special rounds of counselling will be conducted by the CSAB. After every round, the board will announce the seat allotment result. After checking the seat allotment result through CSAB portal, candidates will need to accept the seat allotment, pay the seat acceptance fee and confirm the admission. On the other hand, candidates willing to participate in Special Round-2 can choose Float or Slide options. The seat acceptance fee details are given below:

The seat acceptance and reporting process can be checked below. For accepting the seat, any of the following options must be chosen

• Freeze: If the candidate is satisfied with the seat allotment and does not want to participate in Round 2, ‘Freeze’ is the option that must be chosen.
• Slide: If the candidate is looking for a better course allotment within the same institute, ‘Slide’ is the option that must be chosen. In such cases, the allotted seat will be accepted and will be cancelled only if the candidate gets a better allotment.
• Float: If the candidate is looking for a better institute allotment, ‘Float’ is the option that has to be chosen. . In such cases, the allotted seat will be accepted and will be cancelled only if the candidate gets a better allotment in the second round.
