Highlights of GCET examination date 2022
GCET 2022 exam dates have been revised by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) Goa. The authorities will now conduct GCET 2022 on June 27 and 28 as a pen-and-paper-based test. Previously, GCET 2022 was scheduled to be held on May 11 and 12. Other GCET exam dates 2022 are expected to be released soon. The online GCET application form 2022 will be available for all eligible candidates. To participate in the entrance exam, the candidates will have to register before the GCET 2022 application form last date. Only the registered candidates will be able to access the GCET 2022 admit card. The authorities will conduct the admission process to qualify candidates for admission into the BTech courses offered by the participating institutes. Read to know more about GCET 2022.
What is GCET?Goa Common Entrance Test (Goa CET) exam is a state-level entrance test conducted by DTE Goa for admissions to professional degree courses in Engineering offered at various colleges in Goa. Goa CET is a state-level entrance exam and admission to these courses is governed by DTE Goa.

Candidates will be able to fill out the GCET application form 2022 online. While filling out the application form of GCET 2022, the candidates will have to provide their personal, academic and contact details. All of the details have to be valid in nature. The required application fee has to be paid online i.e., through net banking/credit card/debit card. After the final date, the candidates will be able to submit the application form in offline mode with an additional late fee.
GCET 2022 Eligibility CriteriaCandidates applying for admission to the courses offered in the state through GCET will have to comply with the following eligibility norms.
Nationality:
- Candidates should be Indian National.
- Non-resident Indians holding Indian passports may also apply for seats reserved under the NRI category.
- Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) /Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) cardholders are also considered eligible for admissions to seats under NRI Category.
- Foreign Nationals must apply to Govt. of India.
Valid score in GCET 2022
- Candidates must have appeared and obtained a valid score in GCET conducted for the year of admission. GCET score of the previous year/s is not considered valid.
- For Architecture, the candidate must have appeared and obtained a valid score at NATA conducted by the Council of Architecture.
Qualifying Examination & Minimum Marks:
- Candidates should have cleared the Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination of the Goa Board.
- Or an examination conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, or any other examination equivalent to the H.S.S.C.examination of Goa Board.
- They must also have acquired the minimum percentage of marks in the specific subjects.
First Year B.E.:
- Candidates should have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate (Std.XIIth) examination of the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with English, Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects with one of the following subjects Chemistry/Bio-Technology/Computer Science /Biology, and secured not less than 45% marks in the aggregate of subjects of Physics & Mathematics with one of the following subjects Chemistry/Bio-Technology/Computer Science/Biology. (40% for the applicants belonging to SC, ST and OBC only).
- Candidates should have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate (Std.XIIth) examination of the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with Mathematics as one of the subjects and secured at least 50% marks in aggregate (45% aggregate marks for applicants belonging to SC/ST/OBC).
OR
- 10+3 Diploma (any stream) recognised by Central/State Governments with 50% aggregate marks.
OR
- International Baccalaureate Diploma, after 10 years of schooling, with not less than 50% marks in aggregate and with Mathematics as compulsory subject of examination.
Kashmiri Migrants only in Engineering Courses:
- The candidate should have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate (Std.XIIth) examination or its equivalent examination with English, Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects with one of the following subjects Chemistry/Bio-Technology/Computer Science/Biology and secured not less than 45% marks in the subjects of Physics & Mathematics with one of the following subjects Chemistry/Bio-Technology/Computer Science/Biology.
Diploma/BSc Degree holder:
- Candidates who have passed Diploma in Engineering /B.Sc. Degree with Mathematics as a subject at Std XIIth, with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC), were eligible for admission to First Year of Engineering Degree Courses, subject to vacancies in First Year, after vacancies at Lateral Entry into Direct Second Year are exhausted.
- The merit list of such candidates is prepared on the basis of aggregate marks scored at the qualifying exam.
Candidates are advised to check the official syllabus of GCET 2022 to know the subjects, units and topics that have to be studied for the entrance examination. By knowing the syllabus, the candidates will be well-prepared for the examination and have a higher chance of admission. The syllabus consists of the 11th and 12th standard topics from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
