IIAD Entrance Exam - Indian Institute of Art and Design Entrance Exam

IIAD DAT 2022 - The Indian Institute of Art and Design (IIAD) will conduct the IIAD DAT 2022 exam on June 25, 2022 (both online and offline). The exam will be held at the following centres: New Delhi, Bangalore, and Mumbai. The IIAD application process 2022 is open till June 20, 2022.

The IIAD Design Aptitude Test (iDAT) scores will be used for admission to 200 undergraduate and 40 postgraduate seats offered by the Indian Institute of Art and Design (IIAD).  

IIAD entrance exam is conducted by Indian Institute of Art and Design in collaboration with Kingston School of Art at Kingston University, London to provide admission to aspirants in undergraduate and postgraduate design programmes offered by it.  

IIAD entrance exam is a two-hour and thirty minutes written test where candidates are evaluated on their drawing and design skills, imaginative and creative expression, observation skills, as well as communication and visual strengths. The admission process for IIAD entrance exam is such that after appearing for the written test candidates have to appear for a studio simulation (for UG candidates) or personal interview (for PG candidates) round. Students can either give the IIAD Entrance Exam in offline mode or from their homes as a computer-based test.

IIAD admissions are done on the basis of a candidate’s score in IIAD entrance exam and performance in studio simulation/ personal interview rounds.

Candidates are informed that the eligibility criteria for the IIAD entrance exam vary from one course to the other.

Eligibility Criteria for UG Degree Course

All candidates who have passed Standard XII exams in any discipline (Science, Commerce, Humanities, or Arts) from any of the below-mentioned boards of education fulfill the IIAD entrance exam eligibility criteria.

• Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE)
• Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE)
• Indian State Boards
• National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS)
• International Baccalaureate (IB)
• Cambridge International Examinations (CIE)
• Or any other approved National or International Board of Education

Candidates who are awaiting their Class 12 exam results are also eligible to apply for the IIAD entrance exam.

IIAD Lateral Entry Admissions: Candidates can also secure direct admission in the second year of design programmes on offer at IIAD. The eligibility criteria for IIAD lateral entry admissions is such that candidates need to complete the first year of their design diploma/ degree programme from a national or internationally recognised design college. IIAD admissions 2022 under the lateral entry will be done on the basis of a candidate’s performance in personal interview and portfolio assessment rounds only.

Eligibility Criteria for PG Degree Course

Candidates who have cleared their undergraduate exam (or equivalent) in any discipline from a recognised college or university fulfill IIAD entrance exam 2022 eligibility criteria. Candidates who are appearing for their undergraduate exam in 2022 are also eligible to apply for the exam.

Candidates need to follow the below-mentioned steps in order to take part in the IIAD admission process 2022.

Step 1: Fill IIAD Entrance Exam 2022 Application Form

In order to apply for admission in design courses on offer at the college, candidates first need to fill the IIAD entrance exam application form in the online or offline mode.

To apply online, candidates first need to do IIAD entrance exam registration on the admissions portal of the college (https://apply.iiad.edu.in/) and then fill and submit the IIAD entrance exam application form online. Candidates can pay the IIAD entrance exam 2022 application fee in the online mode through credit/ debit/ net banking facilities of all major banks.

To apply offline, candidates can procure the IIAD entrance exam 2022 application forms from the following locations:

The application fee must be paid in cash or through a demand draft in the name of Teamwork Education Foundation, payable at New Delhi.

Step 2: Get the IIAD Entrance Exam Admit Card

All candidates who successfully register for the test can download IIAD entrance exam 2022 admit card from the official website of the institute. IIAD admit card is a mandatory document to be carried to the IIAD entrance exam centre.

Step 3: Give IIAD Entrance Exam

Candidates need to appear for iDAT (IIAD Design Aptitude Test) for UG course admissions or iMAT (IIAD Management Aptitude Test) for PG course admissions. 

Step 4: Appear for Studio Simulation/ Personal Interview Round

After giving the written design entrance exam, candidates need to appear for studio simulation (for UG candidates) or personal interview (for PG candidates) rounds.

Step 5: Check IIAD Entrance Exam Result

Candidates can secure a seat in design courses on offer at IIAD basis their score in the written entrance exam as well as performance in studio simulation and portfolio assessment rounds.

After all the rounds are conducted the college declares the IIAD entrance exam result on its official website.
