IGNOU BEd Entrance Test - Indira Gandhi National Open University Bachelor of Education Entrance Test

IGNOU B.Ed Entrance Test 2022 date is May 8. IGNOU B.Ed 2022 admit card has been released by Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) on the official website- ignou.ac.in on April 30. Candidates who have regsitered for the exam can visit the official website of IGNOU to download the admit card. IGNOU B.Ed exam 2022 is scheduled to be held at multiple exam centres across the country. IGNOU BEd 2022 registration process was held between March 23 to April 24 for the January session. The last date to edit the IGNOU BEd entrance application form was April 27. Earlier, the last date to apply for IGNOU BEd exam was April 17, 2022 which was extended to April 24. Qualifying candidates will get admission in 2-year B.Ed course. IGNOU B.Ed exam 2022 will be conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA). The medium of the IGNOU B.Ed exam will be English and Hindi. 

IGNOU B.Ed Entrance Test is an all-India level entrance test conducted by Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU). The test is conducted in offline mode for IGNOU admissions in the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) programme. Every year, thousands of candidates appear for the IGNOU B.Ed Entrance Test. In 2018, total of 18,283 candidates had appeared for the teaching entrance exam.

The minimum duration of IGNOU B.Ed course is two years. However, candidates are allowed to complete the course for a maximum duration of five years. The medium of instruction of the IGNOU B.Ed programme is English and Hindi. It may be noted that earlier, National Testing Agency (NTA) conducted the IGNOU B.Ed exam.

Candidates should attain at least 50 per cent marks in graduation or post-graduation in Science/Social Science/Commerce/Humanities. BE (Bachelor of Engineering)/BTech (Bachelor of Technology) candidates with specialization in Science and Mathematics and 55 per cent aggregate marks are also eligible to apply for the exam.

Note: A relaxation of five per cent marks is provided to candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC)/ Scheduled Tribe (ST)/ Other Backward Class (OBC) – non-creamy layer/ Persons with Disability (PwD) categories.

Apart from the above, candidates should also belong to either of the categories mentioned below:

• Trained in-service teachers in elementary education
• Completion of an NCTE recognized teacher education programme through face-to-face mode

IGNOU B.Ed admission process 2022 includes the following steps:

Step 1: Fill IGNOU BEd Entrance Test Application Form

Candidates can fill the IGNOU BEd Entrance Test 2022 application form online on the official website of the university. The application fee for IGNOU BEd Entrance Test is INR 1,000.

Step 2: Download IGNOU BEd Entrance Test Admit Card

Once the application process is over, candidates can download their IGNOU BEd Entrance Test 2022 admit card from the official website of the agency. Candidates can download their admit cards by logging in to their registered accounts.

Step 3: Give IGNOU BEd Entrance Test

Next, candidates need to appear for the IGNOU BEd Entrance Test 2022 as per the prescribed schedule at the allotted exam centre. IGNOU BEd Entrance Test comprises 100 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) of 100 marks that candidates need to complete in a duration of two hours.

Step 4: Check IGNOU BEd Entrance Test Result

IGNOU BEd Entrance Test result is declared on the official website of IGNOU. Candidates can check their results and download scorecards by signing in to their registered accounts using application number and password.  

Step 5: Appear for IGNOU BEd Entrance Test Counselling

Once the result is declared, candidates are provided IGNOU admissions in BEd programme on the basis of counselling. The IGNOU BEd counselling round is conducted in offline mode. In the IGNOU counselling, all the original educational documents of candidates are verified by the university authorities to ascertain their eligibility.

What to carry inside the examination hall?

Candidates must not forget to carry the below-mentioned documents to the allotted exam centre:

• Admit Card: IGNOU B.Ed Entrance Test admit card is a mandatory document to be carried to the test centre. Candidates not carrying their admit cards on the day of the exam are not allowed to take the paper.
• ID Proof: Along with the admit card candidates must also carry a photo ID proof to the exam centre. Documents that can be carried as a photo ID proof are a PAN card, Aadhaar card, driving license, passport, and voter ID.
