What is MICAT?MICA Admissions Test (MICAT) is the online entrance test for MICA's flagship course Post Graduate Diploma in Management - Communications (PGDM-C). MICAT is a unique MBA entrance exam that involves both objective and subjective questions. Along with the common sections of the MBA entrance exams like Quantitative Ability, Verbal Ability and Reasoning, there are sections like Descriptive Language Test and Psychometric Test. Additionally, candidates need to appear for CAT/XAT/GMAT. MICA, Ahmedabad will announce the selection process and timelines for the academic year 2023-25. MICAT exam is conducted in two phases, i.e. MICAT I and MICAT II. The best scores of the candidates are considered for preparing the shortlist. The entire process of MICAT involves a total of five steps starting from filling the application form to downloading the admit card, followed by taking the test, result and final selection process. Let us check each of the steps in detail.
STEP 1: MICAT application form
To apply for MICAT, candidates need to fill the registration form on the official website and pay INR 2,100. After successful registration, aspirants will receive their MICA ID and MICA password via email. This MICA ID is to be used for all future correspondence and login purposes.

STEP 2: MICAT admit card
The admit card for MICAT 2021-22 has been issued to the candidates who completed the registration process before the deadline. Applicants are required to download their admit cards from the official website, i.e. mica.ac.in.

STEP 3: MICAT 2023 exam
MICAT is held twice in a particular admission cycle. The candidates who clear the Psychometric Test will be assessed on the rest of the parameters and examination rounds.

MICAT result 2021-22 will be announced online on the official website. Test takers can check their scores by using their login credentials. Post the result, selected candidates will be invited for GE/PI at various MICA campuses.

STEP 5: Group Exercise/Personal Interview
Shortlisting of GE/PI candidates will be done on the basis of their CAT/XAT/GMAT score and performance in MICAT I and MICAT II.

Admission to MICA Ahmedabad involves MICAT or MICA Admissions Test, which is conducted twice a year. It is not mandatory to appear for both tests. The best of the two scores will be considered for candidates who would take both MICAT I and MICAT II. Shortlisted candidates will have to appear for the final selection rounds involving GE and PI.

Q: What is the pattern of the MICAT exam?
A: MICAT exam is slightly different from most of the MBA entrance exams. It has three different sections, namely Psychometric Test, Section A (Verbal Ability, Quantitative Ability, General Awareness and Divergent-Convergent Thinking) and Section B (Descriptive Test).
