PTU MBA - Punjab MBA Admissions

PTU MBA Admission is conducted by I K Gujral Punjab Technical University(IKGPTU) through a centralised counselling process. Earlier known as Punjab Technical University, the university does not conduct any entrance exam for admissions to the MBA programmes offered by the participating universities - Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana and Maharaja Ranjit Singh State Technical University, Bathinda. Admissions are based on the candidate's performance in Class XII examinations. Candidates have to appear in the PTU MBA admission counselling as per the scheduled dates.

Below is the eligibility criteria for PTU MBA admissions prescribed by the authority:

All those candidates who have passed bachelors degree of minimum three-year duration with at least 50% marks (45% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in any disciplines from the university recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and with valid rank in C-MAT shall be eligible to apply for MBA course.

Other General Eligibility Criteria

• Possesses a good moral character
• Candidates must fulfil the conditions mentioned in the Punjab Govt. notification incorporated in the information brochure
• They should satisfy the requirements laid down by the University / Institution to which he /she is seeking admission
• Is a citizen of India
• All other general eligibility criteria is as per Memo No. 35/44/95-1T(2)/978 Dated, Chandigarh, the 21st March 2003 of the State Govt. of Punjab

• Register from the official website from https://ptu.ac.in/ and pay the application fees
• In this step, fill all the required details in the application form and pay the colleges
• Before final submission of application check all the details before
• Candidates have to report to all the allotted choices along with the document verification

Punjab MBA admission merit list will be prepared as follows :

The merit of MBA course is prepared on the basis of CMAT and inter-se-merit of the qualifying exam with preference to candidates having CMAT scores. In case of a Tie (i.e. two or more candidates securing equal marks) in the merit list, the rank/merit will be prepared as per the criteria given below:-

In case of MBA Course

Tie-Breaking in the case of Merit is prepared on the basis of CMAT- 2022:

• The candidate scoring higher marks in Quantitative Techniques & Data Interpretation shall be higher in merit
• In case of a tie in (i) above, the candidate scoring higher marks in Logical Reasoning shall be higher in merit
• In case of a tie in (ii) above, the candidate scoring higher marks in Language Comprehension shall be higher in merit
• In case of a tie in (iii) above, the candidate scoring higher marks in General Awareness shall be higher in merit.
• In case of a tie in (iv) above, candidates having higher aggregate marks (Mark obtained/Total Marks) in qualifying degree.
• In case of a tie in (v) above, candidates senior in age shall rank higher in order of merit.

Tie-Breaking in case of Merit is prepared on the basis of Qualifying Examination - The candidate senior in age shall be higher in merit.

Step 1: Application fee payment and registration

Students can pay the application fee online as well as offline. After that, they need to register online for counselling process with details like Name, DOB, Email id, Mobile number etc. After registering, aspirants will receive an OTP which needs to submitted online. They would also receive a confirmation message for the fee payment on their mobile numbers and registered email id.

• PTU MBA Application Fee: Rs. 2,000
• Online Mode: Credit Card/ Debit Card/ Net Banking
• Offline Mode: Cash payment using E-slip at HDFC, IDBI, AXIS and State Bank of Patiala (SBOP) banks

Note: In case of online payment of application fees, note down the transaction ID. In case of offline payment, please get the slip signed by the bank authorities and mention the journal number on the slip along with the payment date.

Step 2: Filling details and choice filling

Aspirants will be required to log in by entering the fee slip number and the password. Aspirants applying for PTU on the basis of 10+2 need to enter the required details. Once they log in, they need to enter details like - State of Eligibility (Punjab -85% Quota or other states -15% Quota), gender, personal details, academic details, NATA score/10+2 score, college and course preference etc.

Step 3: PTU MBA Application Form Submission

Before submitting the application form, students must check all the filled-in details carefully. Once entered, students will not be able to modify the same. Aspirants should also take a print out of the form.

• Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme is applicable under 1st Year & 2nd Year of MBA. & Pharmacy Courses only
• Punjab Agricultural University is participating in Centralized Online Counselling for B.Arch. (Agri.) & B.Arch. (ME) 1st Year course on NATA Basis only (without Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme)
• Punjab Agricultural University will remain closed on Saturday & Sunday
