UPESEAT - University of Petroleum and Energy Studies - Engineering Aptitude Test

UPESEAT 2022 registration process is ongoing. Interested candidates meeting the eligibility criteria can apply by filling the application form. UPESEAT application form 2022 is available on upes.ac.in until June 30. Candidates seeking admission have to qualify the entrance examination. UPESEAT 2022 is scheduled to be held from July 03 to 05. Post examination, the result will be announced online.Candidates can also apply for admission to BTech programmes of UPES through SAT, JEE Main and Board merit basis. Applications for admission through exams other than UPESEAT will be available later. 

UPESEAT is the abbreviated form of the University of Petroleum & Energy Studies Engineering Aptitude Test. University of Petroleum & Energy Studies (UPES) conducts the examination every year online for the admission of suitable candidates to its various BTech programs. It is a self-financed, UGC and AICTE approved University. Admission in UPES is done through UPESEAT, JEE Main scorecard, and Board merit list. 80% of seats of the University are filled through UPESEAT and the rest 20% are filled on the basis of the JEE Main scorecard and Class 12 result.

Meeting the eligibility criteria is the first priority to apply for UPESEAT 2022.  The admission authority will not accept the application form of non-eligible candidates. Hence, candidates should check UPESEAT BTech eligibility criteria to avoid the rejection of their application. The conditions that candidates should fulfil are Nationality, Age Limit, Percentage, etc. Furthermore, check the BTech program and BTech LLB (Hons) eligibility criteria below.

Nationality: Indian, as well as foreign national candidates, can apply for the UPESEAT 2022.

Age Limit: Candidates must have been born on or after October 1, 2000.

Qualification: Candidates must have passed 10+2 Intermediate or equivalent examination from any recognized board. Class 12 appearing candidates are also allowed to appear for the exam.

Marks in Qualifying Exam: Candidates must have obtained at least 50% marks in Class 10 & 12 and 50% marks aggregate in the PCM Subjects.

JEE Main: Candidates who have scored more than prescribed cut off marks need not appear for UPESEAT 2022 and can participate directly in the counselling.

Board: Candidates with scores equal to or above 80% in both Class 10 & 12 levels also need not appear for UPESEAT 2022 and can participate directly in the counselling.

Step 1: UPESEAT 2022 Registration

In the very first stage of the admission process, candidates have to exercise UPESEAT 2022 registration. Candidates can apply for UPESEAT either online or offline. An application fee of Rs.1,850 as part of the application fee needs to be paid via Debit/Credit card/Net Banking/Pay U.

Step 2: Release of UPESEAT 2022 Admit Card

The admission authority will issue admit cards to the registered candidates for appearing in UPESEAT 2022. Candidates will be able to download UPESEAT admit card 2022 by using their login credentials.

Step 3: Conduct of UPESEAT 2022

The exam authority will conduct UPESEAT 2022 as per the announced date and time. However, the schedule to organize the examination is not available yet.

Step 5: UPESEAT 2022 Result Declaration

The result will be declared after a few days of the examination. Candidates who will appear in the exam will be able to check their UPESEAT 2022 results online.

The syllabus for the examination will consist of various topics from the Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/ Biology of 11th and 12th NCERT syllabus and English language Comprehension, Current Affairs Awareness sections.

The exam pattern basically helps Candidates know about the type of questions, number of sections, total number of questions and time allotted to complete the test. Following is the brief description of the UPESEAT 2022 exam pattern:

Exam Mode: The exam will be conducted online. If a centre-based exam is conducted, it will be informed to Candidates later.

Total Sections: There will be a total of four sections: Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry and English Language.

Medium: The medium of the question paper will be English only.

Type of Questions: The question paper will consist of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) only.

Total Questions: There will be a total of 125 questions (online) and 200 Questions (Centre Based) in the paper.

Duration: Total three (3) hours for the centre-based test and two (2) hours for the online test.

Marking Pattern: For every correct response, 1 mark will be awarded. There will be no negative marking for unattempted or wrong answers.

• Go through the complete syllabus and exam pattern.
• Make a balanced time schedule and follow it strictly.
• Solve the previous years and sample papers and take the mock tests a month before the exam.

Check UPESEAT 2022 Preparation Tips

UPESEAT admit card is an important document to be carried on the day of the exam. Candidates without the admit card will not be allowed to participate in the exam. UPES is yet to announce dates for the release of the UPESEAT admit card. It is expected that candidates will be able to download their admit cards online in March 2022 by entering their login details. Only successfully registered candidates will be allowed to download their hall tickets only. Candidates must note that the authority will not send any admit card through the mail or by post.

The University provides the scholarship to the candidates in two different categories i.e. All India Category and Uttarakhand Domicile Special Scholarship. The details of the scholarship are available below.

All India Category

• A candidate should have obtained 60% marks in class 10 and 12 with 60% in PCM.
• 50% tuition fee waiver on 10% seats in each program in the first year for CBSE, ICSE & State board pass out Candidates.
• In the second semester, the application form will be renewed subjected to a candidate who should have scored SGPA 8/10.
• Scholarship in the coming years will be as per the scholarship policy of the University.

Uttarakhand Domicile Special Scholarships

Eligibility

• A candidate should have scored 60% marks in each of classes 10, 12, and PCM for BTech.
• A candidate should have a Permanent Residence Certificate.
• Candidates can avail only 1 scholarship at a time (either through Uttarakhand Board Merit or through Uttarakhand Domicile category)
• The seats reserved under this category will be within the 15% reservation for Uttarakhand Domicile Candidates.

Scholarships

• In the first year, 35% of tuition fee for female Candidates and 25% of tuition fee for male Candidates.
• In the second semester, the application form will be renewed subjected to candidates who should have scored SGPA 8/10.
• Scholarship in the coming years will be as per the scholarship policy of the University.

UPESEAT 2022 Exam dates: University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES) has announced the UPESEAT exam dates. The exam will be conducted from July 03 to 05, 2022. Along with that, the university has also announced the last date to fill out the application form. Students are allowed to fill the UPESEAT 2022 application form till June 30, 2022.
