X-GMT Preparation Tips 2023

Check a few XGMAT 2023 preparation tips below:

  • Plan your study in advance: Devising a concrete study plan based on your strength and weakness, is the first step of the preparation process. If you have a lot of skills to learn, it is better that you start your preparations little earlier. Candidates should allot a requisite amount of time for all the sections, especially the ones where candidates are required to work harder. Don’t get discouraged, if you are stuck in a question or struggle to learn a new concept. If possible, take help from peers or teachers who will help you overcome bottlenecks.
  • Focus on Speed and Accuracy: Striking the right balance between speed and accuracy is key to performing well in X-GMT. If you have around six months left for the exam, you should prioritise accuracy over speed. As you will advance with your study plan and start practising mocks, your speed will automatically improve. Given that X-GMT has a provision for negative marking, candidates must ensure that they practice enough to gain adequate speed with maximum accuracy.
  • Practice Mocks: Taking at least one full-time mock test since the beginning of your study plan must be on your priority list. It will give you a sense of how long the test lasts and help you understand when the mental fatigue creeps in. Adhering to test timing is an essential part of practising mocks. It will help you gain a sense of what it is like to sit for two hours taking the X-GMT exam.
  • Revise: Proper revision is the most important aspect of a successful preparation plan. Candidates can make a list of all the important topics and concepts to brush up on their memory. It is advisable that the best of the last month should be spent on working on strengths. You can also use notes made during practice sessions for revision.
