XIC OET 2022- The 2nd list of selected candidates for the academic year 2022-2023 have been released by the Xavier Institute of Communications for Journalism & Mass Communication, Public Relations & Corporate Communications, Advertising & Marleting Communication and Film, Television & Digital Video Production. Candidates can pay the course designated fees in either online or offline mode. 

The Xavier Institute of Communications conducts the Xavier Institute of Communication Online Entrance Test (XIC OET) in order to offer candidates admissions in mass communication courses available at the varsity. Candidates can apply for admission in various postgraduate diploma courses and certificate courses which are offered at the college. On the basis of an aspirant’s performance in Xavier Institute of Communications Online Entrance Test (XIC OET), the candidate can secure admission in the below mentioned Diploma courses:

XIC OET Exam Highlights

The admission schedule for the XIC OET has been announced by the Xavier Institute of Communications. Candidates can go through the below mentioned dates for the exam: 

Candidates who wish to appear for the XIC OET 2022 have to follow the below-mentioned admission process.

Step 1: Registration

Candidates had to register themselves by clicking on the 'register' on the official website of the university in order to fill up the application form. Before filling up the online registration form,- candidates were advised to ensure that they keep a scanned copy of a recent passport-size photograph of themselves ready for uploading. The candidates had to enter the following details: 

• Name
• Mobile Number
• Email ID
• Course Interested In
• Captcha Number 

After submitting the details, candidates received a login ID and password which they had to use to log in, in order to avail the XIC OET application forms.

Step 2: Fill XIC OET Application Form

Candidates had to fill the online application forms from April 1, 2022 onwards. Candidates are advised to check the eligibility criteria before filling and submitting the application forms. Candidates can pay their XIC OET 2022 application fee online by using their Bank DEBIT / CREDIT Cards / Net banking / UPI. XIC OET application fee is INR 3,500. for the AICP course the application fee is INR 2,500.

Note: As part of the Registration Process, candidates have to provide their Statement of Purpose (SOP). If they qualify for the Personal Interview stage, it could be brought up for discussion. Hence, candidates are advised to give sufficient thought while putting their SOP together.

Step 3: Select date and centre

After completing the payment procedure candidates had to select their OET date and personal interview centre.

Note: FAILURE to upload SCANNED PHOTOGRAPH or provide proper details, will not allow candidate to proceed further.

Step 4: Download XIC OET Admit Card

The XIC OET 2022 admit card were sent to candidates on the E-mail ID mentioned in their registration form. Candidate were advised to check their Junk/Spam Email Folders in case they did not receive the admit card after the registration procedure. Candidates had to preserve their admit card carefully as only this document was accepted in all further transactions between a candidate and XIC.

Step 5: Appear for XIC Entrance Exam

Candidates had to appear for the Xavier Institute of Communications Online Entrance Test at their preferred date. XIC OET is of 90 minutes duration and consists of both objective as well as subjective type questions. XIC OET 2022 entrance exam was held on April 29, April 30, May 2, May 3, May 6 and May 7, 2022.

Eligibility for other courses

A candidate is eligible to register for the OET if he/she meet the requirements mentioned below:

• You are 35 years or below in age.
• You have completed 3 years of Graduation (12+3 years) in a University approved stream in India: (Arts, Commerce, Science, Computers, BMM, BMS, BE, Catering, etc….)OR
• You are appearing for your last semester or Third year Graduation in the present Academic year.

Note: In this last case, should a candidate be selected for the XIC Course of their choice, and successfully complete it in keeping with the Academic, Attendance and other standards laid down by XIC, the Diploma will be awarded only on completion of their Graduation and on submission of the relevant attested Final mark-sheet of their graduation.

Eligibility for Advanced Integrated Communication Programme AICP

• A Graduate in any discipline and Work experience of 2 years in a non-staff function (executive or supervisory function desired).
• Organizational sponsorship for this program preferred, however a letter from the organization shall be required stating that they are aware of your joining this course.

Candidates seeking admission to Xavier Institute of Communications have to follow the process as under:

Step 1: Appear for Personal Interview

Based on a candidate's score in the online test and subjective paper, they were called for the personal interview. The interview were held online due to increasing cases of Covid-19. The venue and time were intimated via email. As per the official website personal interview (PI) were conducted at below mentioned dates:

Step 2: Check XIC OET Result

Selections were based on candidate's scores in the online test, subjective paper and the personal interview. Aspirants can check their XIC OET 2022 result on the official website of Xavier Institute of Communications. 

Test Centres: In view of the prevailing situation caused by the Covid 19 Virus and keeping in mind candidates travel and safety issues, the management has decided to opt for conducting the OET from home (from wherever a candidate is located). Know more about XIC OET 2022 test centres.

The Xavier Institute of Communications has not specified any detailed syllabus for the entrance exam, however as per the official website Objective section of the exam will consist of questions based on Language Skills, General Knowledge and Knowledge of Media, Logical and Analytical skills. Whereas the questions in Subjective section will be media related in order to assess creativity, social values, writing skills, etc of the candidates. Some questions will also be related to the Course a candidate is applying for. Candidates had to appear for XIC OET and those qualifying the exam were shortlisted for personal interview round. The XIC OET 2022 pattern was such that aspirants had to attempt multiple choice questions in 60 minutes and subjective questions in 30 minutes duration. The password and login details were emailed to candidates 10 minutes prior to the test. Candidates were advised to check their SPAM/JUNK folder in case they do not receive the email in their Inbox. Candidates had to login and start the test immediately on receiving the login information. The pattern for the test is given below:

Note: In the subjective section, candidates had to type answers in proper English language. Any answer containing short forms or SMS language were bound to be rejected.

While preparing for XIC OET, it is important for candidates to have a plan in mind. This is how candidates should plan their exam preparation: 

• Have a proper preparation strategy in place
• Know exam pattern thoroughly and go through sample papers and syllabus.
• Pick the best journalism test books to prepare.
• The aim should be to score well in entrance exam
• Focus on your time management skills and improving speed of answering questions based on English and General Knowkedge.
• Solve as many sample papers and previous years' question papers as possible to know your strong and weak areas for the exam.
• Practice writing an essay to enhance your writing skills

XIC OET 2022 Entrance Exam: Candidates had to select their preferred OET date and personal interview centre at the time of registration. The XIC OET 2022 entrance exam were conducted on April 29, April 30, May 2, May 3, May 6 and May 7, 2022. Personal Interview: Due to the increasing Corona cases, XIC changed the Personal Interviews to ONLINE/SKYPE interviews. As per the new schedule the personal interview were held on May 12, May 13, May 14 and May 15, 2022 and for PR & Corp. Comm. GD & Interview were conducted on May 14, May 15 & May 16, 2022.

Results: A final list of successful candidates has been released by the institute on May 18, 2022 (at approx 4 pm).

Release of Wait List: A waiting list of candidates will also be declared on May 30, 2022 (at approx 4 pm).
