What is new at Aliah University? According to the NIRF report 2022, 54 UG and 30 PG students were placed during 2021 placements. The median package offered to UG students was between INR 1.80 LPA and INR 4.20 LPA, whereas, for PG programmes, it ranges between INR 2.50 LPA and INR 4.30 LPA. 

Aliah University Kolkata is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), the University Grant Commission (UGC) and the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). It is one of the oldest educational institutes in the country. Aliah University is located in New Town, Kolkata and is controlled by the state government. Previously known as Mohammedan College of Calcutta, it was established in 1780. The institute was converted into a university in 2008. At present, Aliah University Kolkata offers over 48 courses at the UG and PG levels. The newer buildings of the institute are situated in Taltala, Park Circus and New Town. The science and technology department is in the New Town. The Park Circus and Taltala camps are used for Arts, Nursing and Islamic theology. The institute was established with the primary aim of providing education and research facilities to students in the fields of science, technology, arts, nursing and Islamic theology. The university offers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programs in the subjects mentioned above. With over 182 highly qualified faculty members, the University has 7 departments and centres.

The University has signed MoU with KRACKiN Skill X for academic and industrial partnership. Aliah University has also signed an MoU with the National Small Industries Corporation (Govt. Of India Enterprise, Under Ministry of MSME) for training on industry oriented courses and internships of the students.

Aliah University Scholarships 2021

Scholarships are awarded to meritorious doctorate students for pursuing their research. The NON-NET fellowship under SVMCM Scholarship Scheme offers this facility to students. The students who have received the initial installment of the scholarship can apply for continuation.
