Established in 2010, Azim Premji University (APU) is a non-profit and private university, located in Bengaluru. It is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and is aimed at preparing graduates by expanding the frontiers of knowledge in education, development and allied fields through research. The APU campus is spread across 12 acre of land and is organised into five schools and a research centre. These schools have ownership for their respective programmes and therefore conduct domain-specific research, conferences, workshops, publications, etc. The list of these schools of allied disciplines are listed below:

Apart from this, the University campus is meticulously designed and equipped with all the basic amenities for the students. The campus facilities include spacious classrooms, a library, hostel accommodations for 3,800 students and 700 faculty and administration staff, an auditorium, an amphitheater, a sports complex, etc. To encourage the diversity of talents among students, the University has set-up several student clubs that are volunteered by expert faculty and senior students. These clubs conduct a variety of co-curricular events in the fields of theatre, photography, sports, poetry, music, etc. The faculty of the University act as facilitators of learning and hence have significant autonomy in structuring the courses, teaching methods and experiences.

APU students get opportunities for research, publish in student journals and participate in a variety of University initiatives. Weekly colloquium lectures are conducted by scholars, practitioners and researchers from across the world. This provides a varied exposure and opportunity to learn from people outside the University. The University also hosts a series of regular international conferences and workshops in collaboration with other institutes. The University under its ‘Field Reflection’ programme, initiates field exposure visits during the initial semesters of the students. In addition to this, it also organises internship opportunities and encourages the students to work on field projects as well.

For seeking admission to any of the courses offered at APU, candidates can apply online through the official application portal of the University. Interested applicants also have an option to buy University prospectus and application form by visiting the University's registrar office. The admission cycle commences in January and ends in April. Below mentioned are the details regarding APU admissions:

• Candidates, who have completed Class 12 from a recognised board in relevant stream with a minimum of 50 per cent aggregate, can apply for UG courses
• Admission to all UG programmes is based on an entrance test conducted by APU, followed by a Personal Interview (PI) round
• A candidate must have completed graduation in the relevant stream with a minimum of 50 per cent aggregate to apply for any of the PG programmes
• Admission to all PG programmes is also based on the entrance exam followed by PI round.

The University offers UG and PG programmes across multiple specialisations. The duration BA and BSc programme is three years whereas BSc B.Ed is a five-year course. MA and LLM programmes offered at PG level are of two and one-year duration, respectively. Apart from degree courses, it also offers online courses on skill-building topics from time-to-time. The placement committee comprises students, faculty, and other members who decide on all key aspects of the placement process. These aspects include:

• Deciding on the placement calendar and setting the norms for placements
• Identifying job opportunities
• Conducting practitioner lectures, seminars and workshops
• Organising training on soft skills, interview skills, resume building, etc.
• Facilitating smooth operations during pre-placement talks, interviews coordination and final offer processes

Over three hundred organizations participate in Aziz Premji University campus placements, including large organisations in the NGO space, not-for-profit organizations, research institutions, policy bodies, among others.

APU provides scholarships to meritorious students under two categories, including UG and PG scholarships. The details regarding APU scholarships are given below:

APU UG scholarships: For candidates seeking admission to any of the UG courses offered at APU are provided scholarships based on their annual family income. The students, whose annual family income is less than INR 15 LPA are eligible for scholarships.

APU PG scholarships: The University also offers scholarships to PG aspirants based on their annual family income. The students with family income is less than INA 7 LPA are eligible for scholarships.
