Bihar Agricultural University, Sabour (Bhagalpur) is a State Agricultural University, established in 2010 by State Legislature of Bihar. The University is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and offers undergraduate programmes in Agriculture and Horticulture at six different campuses/ colleges of the University. It also offers master's and PhD programmes.

Bihar Agricultural University's admission process generally starts in the last week of April. The University offers three courses such as BSc, MSc and PhD in several specialisations.

• For BSc programme, admission is done based on the score obtained in Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination (BCECE) and All India Entrance Examination (AIEEA)
• Admission to MSc and PhD programmes is granted based on the scores obtained in the University-level exam and AIEEA

Bihar Agricultural University offers BSc in two specialisations at the UG level. For 85 per cent seats, candidates are selected based on the score obtained in BCECE conducted by the Government of Bihar. For the remaining 15 per cent seats, selection of the candidates is done through AIEEA conducted by The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). Admission to 85 per cent of the total seats is made through university-level entrance exam and for the remaining 15 per cent seats, selection is done based on AIEEA score conducted by ICAR. At doctoral level, PhD is offered in nine specialisations by Bihar Agricultural University. For 75 per cent seats, admission to PhD programme is based on the score obtained in a competitive test conducted by the University.
