About

Chennai Mathematical Institute (CMI) was established in the year 1989 as a part of the SPIC Science Foundation, funded by the SPIC group in Chennai. The institute was formerly known as SPIC Mathematical Institute. Chennai Mathematical Institute is recognised by the University Grants Commission as a university under Section 3 of the UGC Act 1956. The institute offers a total of eight courses, including BSc, MSc and PhD across three specialisations. It has a regular exchange programme with the Ecole Normale Superieure (ENS) in France.

In 2015, Chennai Mathematical Institute set-up a separate society called Algolabs to promote interaction between CMI and the industries, notably in the area of Analytics, and Optimization. Chennai Mathematical Institute provides a library, well-equipped computer labs, AC classrooms, Wifi facility and hostel facilities to their students.

Admit card for the exam will be issued prior to the entrance exam. Students can download the same from the official website by logging on to the admission portal of the varsity and take a print of this admit card.
