Dibrugarh University offers a variety of undergraduate, post graduate and doctoral level programs in the available streams of Humanities & Social Sciences, Science, Commerce, Engineering, Teaching & Education and Medical & Health Sciences.

Minimum Eligibility Criteria for all courses

The general eligibility criteria to seek admission in the undergraduate programs offered at Dibrugarh University says that the candidate need to complete their 10+2 with a minimum of 45% marks in the relevant discipline, from a recognized university/board.

Candidates seeking admission in the post graduate programs need to complete their graduation with a minimum of 50% marks in the relevant discipline, from a recognized university.

Admissions Process for all courses

DU accepts admission to various courses on the basis of valid DURAT/UGC-NET/JRF/GATE/CAT/MAT/CMAT scores. It is important to have a valid score in the relevant qualifying examination in order to meet the university’s minimum eligibility criteria.

The university also accepts Assam CEE for admissions into various courses offered. The entrance examination is an important part of the admission process, thus making it mandatory for the candidate to appear for it, failing which their candidature is subjected to cancellation.

Directorate of Technical Education, Assam conducts Assam CEE for admissions into the Engineering, Medical, Dental and Pharmacy courses offered by various colleges in the state of Assam.

Application Process

Candidates can submit the university’s application form through online/offline mode, for admissions.

Aspirants can pay the application fee by Credit Card/Debit Card/Net banking/E-Challan. In case of E-Challan the application fee can be paid in any branch of Indian Bank.

Admit Card

Aspirants will receive the admit card on their registered email IDs. They can also download the admit cards from the university's official website. Candidates need to log on to the admission portal of the university and take a print of their respective admit card.

After this aspirants need to paste their self-attested passport size (colored) photograph on their admit card and carry the same to their test centre on the date of examination.

Admissions Process for Foreign Nationals

The Dibrugarh University agrees in principle to admit Foreign/NRI students to the Post Graduate Undergraduate and Diploma programmes in different fields to provide educational opportunities to Foreign/NRI students

15% seats on supernumerary basis are reserved for admission in the various academic programmes in the University Departments/Centres of Studies for the foreign/NRI students.

5% seats are earmarked for children of Indian workers in the Gulf out of the 15% supernumerary seats.

Apply for admissions into the academic programmes in the prescribed form which can be downloaded from the University website.

Attach with this application form photocopies of the statement of marks/Transcript and all other relevant documents duly attested by the following :

Indian Embassy in foreign country, or High Commissioner of student’s country in India, or Ministry of Education in foreign country.

Attach Migration Certificate in original with the application form. This is obligatory for those coming from any other Statutory Indian University

• Copy of residence permit/visa
• Letter from the employer.
• Affidavit from the parent for financial support.
• NRI Status certificate issued by the Indian Embassy in the concerned country

• Conduct and Character Certificate from the institution last attended.
• Copies of passport and visa.
