Founded in 1986, Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences is named after Dr. Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao, the former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. Also known as NTRUHS, this state university has been recognised by various statutory bodies like University Grants Commission (UGC), Medical Council of India (MCI), Central Council of Indian Medicine (CCIM), Central Council of Homeopathy (CCH) and Indian Nursing Council (INC).

This University has 298 affiliated colleges that offer a vast range of UG, PG, diploma and super specialty courses. Apart from these courses, it also offers doctoral programmes in both full-time and part-time mode. The courses impart education, training and research in majorly in the field of Allopathic and Ancient Indian Systems of Medicine, Modern Medicine and allied Health Sciences like Dentistry, Physiotherapy, Nursing and Paramedical.

Students can complete the registration process for NTRUHS admissions 2020 in both online as well as offline modes. Admission is granted to students either on the basis of marks secured in the qualifying examination or basis the score in entrance exams. This University has organised diversified admission process for different courses offered which is enlisted below:

• Super Specialty courses: Candidates are required to clear NEET SS 2020 conducted by the National Board of Examinations (NBE), New Delhi for admission in these courses
• MBBS and BDS: Admission is done basis a student’s performance in NEET UG 2020 followed by a Counselling session at the University; students are also required to complete the mandatory internship prior registration with AP State Medical Council
• MD, MS and MDS: Qualifying exam for admission in these courses is NEET PG 2020 / AIAPGET 2020
• PhD (Part-time): Students must have minimum four-year work experience including one year in any of the colleges or institutes affiliated to NTR University to qualify for admission in this course
• Admission in UG courses like BSc Nursing, BSc (MLT), BNYS, BAMS, BHMS, BUMS and BPT is entirely based on a candidate's marks in the previous qualifying exam
• There is no entrance test for admission in MSc (Nursing) and MPT courses

Note: SC/ST students are not rewired to meet the minimum marks requirement in the entrance examination conducted by the University.

This University offers Under Graduate Student Research Scholarships to students pursuing MBBS /BDS course or others across specialisations like Ayush, Nursing and Physiotherapy.
