Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology Scholarships

Students of IIST get scholarships based on merit. Below are the details regarding IIST scholarships:

  • The top 5 undergraduate students who are admitted in 2021-22 and secured AIR (All India Rank, in JEE Advanced Examination, 2021) up to 1000 would be entitled to a full fee waiver for the first year. However, they have to maintain a CGPA of 9.0 and above on a scale of 10 at the end of each year to obtain a full fee waiver for the subsequent year.
  • Those UG students who are admitted in 2021-22 and secure a CGPA of 9.0 or higher (on a scale of 10) in a given semester would receive a 50 per cent tuition fee waiver in the next semester. The number of waivers shall be limited to ten per cent (10%) of the admitted students in each programme.
  • Also, students from MTech courses with valid GATE scores will receive scholarships through AICTE.

Established in 2008, Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST) is an autonomous body under the Department of Space (DOS). UG Courses

The admission to undergraduate courses is done through counselling which is based upon merit and is strictly governed by the reservation policy laid down by the Government.

  • Candidates must register themselves online through the IIST website

IIST BTech is a full-time programme of four-year duration offered in two specialisations as well as a dual degree programme at UG level. BTech has an intake of total 60 seats and the eligibility criteria for admission for both the courses is mentioned below:

IIST PhD Admission 2021

To apply for PhD programme, a candidate should be below 35 years and must have a UG degree in the respective field with the first-class division. They also must have a valid score in UGC NET/ CSIR NET/ JEST (or) GATE.

IIST Scholarships and Financial Assistance 2021

The institute provides financial assistance to the students from BTech and dual degree programmes funded by the Department of Space (DoS), Government of India. The assistantship covers expenses such as tuition fees, hostel & establishment charges and medical expenses.

Also, an additional book allowance of Rs 3,000 is provided per semester.

The assistantship to the students, who belong to SC, ST and PD categories, will be continued beyond the first semester only if they secure a minimum GPA of 6.5 (on a scale of 10) in every semester.
