Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences, also known as KNRUHS was established in 2014 in Warangal. It is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and Medical Council of India (MCI). It has more than 160 government and private affiliated colleges. Presently, it offers UG, PG, super specialty and diploma programmes under several branches, such as Health Sciences, such as Allopathy (Modern Medicine), Dental Surgery, Homeopathy, Indian Systems of Medicine and Paramedical.

UG Courses

• Admission to MBSS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS, BNYC, BUMS, BSc (Nursing) and Post Basic BSc (Nursing) programmes is based on NEET UG cut off
• BPT and BSc (MLT) admissions are done on merit-basis
• Candidates, who have completed Class 12 in Science stream, can apply for any of the UG courses

PG Courses

• Admission to MD and MS is based on NEET PG/ AIAPGET cut off
• MDS admissions are based on NEET MDS exam
• Admission to MSc, MPT and other courses is done on merit-basis
• A candidate must have completed bachelor’s degree in the relevant stream to apply for any of the PG courses

Super Specialty Courses

• A valid score in NEET SS is required for admission to DM and MCh programmes
• A candidate must have passed MD and MS to apply for DM and MCh programmes, respectively

Diploma Courses

• Admission to diploma courses is done on merit-basis
• Candidates, who have completed Class 12, can apply for diploma programmes

PDF Courses

• Admission to PDF programme is done on merit-basis
• A candidate must have completed PhD in the relevant stream can apply for PDF programme

At the UG level, the University offers nine different programmes in several fields, such as Dental, Ayurvedic, Homeopathy, Naturopathy, Unani, Physiotherapy and more. The duration of these programmes varies from course-to-course. Admission to these courses is either entrance or merit-based. The course-wise details regarding all UG programmes are mentioned below:

The University offers MBBS, Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine & Surgery (BAMS), Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine & Surgery (BHMS) and Bachelor of Unani Medicine & Surgery (BUMS) with a course duration of five and a half years, including one year of rotating internship. The course duration of Bachelor of Naturopathy & Yogic Sciences (BNYC) and Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) is four and a half years, including one year of rotating internship. Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) is a full-time five-year programme offered at the UG level. Admission to BPT is merit-based, whereas admission to other courses is entrance-based. Candidates are shortlisted based on the marks obtained in the respective qualifying/ entrance exam. Eligibility criteria for the same is given below:

Apart from the above programmes, it also offers BSc (Nursing), BSc (MLT) and Post Basic BSc (Nursing) at the UG level. BSc (Nursing) and BSc (MLT) are offered with a course duration of four and three years, respectively. The course duration of Post Basic BSc (Nursing) is two years. The final selection of students for BSc (Nursing) and Post Basic BSc (Nursing) programmes is based on the NEET UG cut off, whereas candidates are selected based on the scores obtained in Class 12 for BSc (MLT) programme. At the PG level, the University offers more than 10 programmes in several fields, such as Medicine, Dental, Homeopathy, Unani, Ayurveda, Nursing, etc. Admission to all these programmes either merit or entrance-based. Candidates, who have completed graduation in the relevant stream can apply for PG courses. Below mentioned are the course-wise details regarding PG programmes:

Doctor of Medicine (MD) and Master of Surgery (MS) are the programmes offered at the PG level with a course duration of three years. MD is offered in more than 20 specialisations, whereas MS is offered in five different specialisations. Admission to both programmes is entrance-based, and candidates are shortlisted based on the marks secured in the entrance exam. The eligibility criteria for both programmes is as follows:

Qualifying exam: NEET PG/ AIAPGET

Eligibility criteria: MBBS degree from an institution recognised by MCI and completion of internship on or before March 31 of the admission year. 

The University also offers MSc, MPT and MDS programmes under four different departments, namely the Department of Public Health, Department of Applied Nutrition, Department of Physiotherapy and Department of Dental. The duration of all the programmes is two years, which is divided into four semesters. Admission to MDS is entrance-based, and admission to other courses is purely done on merit-basis. The selection of students is based on the scores obtained in the respective qualifying/ entrance exam.

Apart from the above programmes, it also offers some PG courses under the Department of Ayurveda, Dental, Unani, Homeopathy, Nursing and Physiotherapy. The duration of programmes offered under the Department of Physiotherapy and Nursing is two years, whereas other programmes have a course duration of three years. The University offers two super specialty programmes, namely Doctorate of Medicine (DM) and Magister Chirurgiae (MCh). DM is offered in six different specialisations and MCh is offered in seven different specialisations. The duration of both programmes is three years, which is divided into six semesters. Admission to both programmes is entrance-based, and candidates are shortlisted based on the NEET SS cut off. Given below is the eligibility criteria for both programmes:

Apart from the degree courses, the University also offers diploma courses in 10 different specialisations. The duration of diploma programmes is two years. These courses are offered under the Department of Modern Medicine. Name of the specialisations along with the eligibility criteria are given below:

Eligibility criteria: Class 12 in Science stream from a recognised board.

The University offers a Post Doctoral Fellowship programme under the Department of Modern Medicine. It is offered in 11 different specialisations. Admission to PDF programme is done on merit-basis, and candidates are shortlisted based on the scores obtained in PhD. Candidates applying for UG, PG and super specialty programmes, first need to register for the respective entrance exam. The application process for the respective entrance exams is mentioned below:

Application process for NEET UG:

Candidates need to register for NEET UG through the official website of NTA. The application fee for NEET UG is Rs 1,500 for General category candidates, whereas the fee for SC/ ST category candidates is Rs 800. Follow the below-mentioned steps to apply for NEET UG:

1. Visit the official website of NTA and register
2. After successful registration, login using email id and password
3. Fill in the registration form by entering asked details
4. Submit the application form by uploading a passport-size photograph and scanned signature

Application process for MD/ MS programmes:

Candidates applying for MD/ MS programme, need to register for NEET PG. The application fee for NEET PG for General category candidates is Rs 3,750, and the application fee for reserved category candidates is Rs 2,750.  Follow the below-mentioned steps to apply for NEET PG:

2. After successful registration, login using email id and password

Candidates applying for MDS programmes, first need to register for NEET MDS through the official website of NBE.
