Magadh University: Last date of application for BA, BSc, BCom, MA, MSc and MCom courses was 27 August.

Magadh University (MU) was founded by Satyendra Narayan Sinha in 1962. Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan laid the University's foundation. The public-state university holds the recognition of the University Grants Commission (UGC). Magadh University is accredited with NAAC ‘Grade C’ and is the first ‘Digital University’ of Bihar as it has digitalised the entire curriculum for its students, including attendance, degree request, student portal and document management. The university is now governed by the Bihar State University Act 1976.

The University holds 17th rank in the list of country's 20 best universities which is prepared by the Indian Council of Marketing Research in 2019.

With its sprawling 460-acre campus, 24 PG departments, 44 constituent colleges, eight faculties and 175 affiliated institutes, it is Bihar's largest university.

The University has several dedicated set of institutes that offer courses in full-time and distance learning mode. The University is also recognised with Directorate of Distance Education (DDE). It offers numerous UG, PG, diploma, doctoral, professional and vocational degree courses in a variety of fields. In addition to this, the University also offers dual degree and twinning programmes in collaboration with the Tata Institute of Social Sciences. Magadh University is very popular for its national-level seminars that are on a regular basis.

For admissions to any of the UG & PG programmes at Magadh University, aspirants must fill the application form available at the university's official website or by visiting the University in-person. Applications are reviewed by the University for checking the basic eligibility requirements and the score obtained in previous qualifying examination. However, for granting admission to several PG courses, the University also conducts entrance exam. For seeking admission to the research-based courses offered at Magadh University, candidates need to appear for pre-PhD test.

After successfully submitting the application form, the University will issue admit card to all applicants 7-10 days before the date of exam. Candidates must carry the admit card on the exam days as otherwise they might not be able to write the examination.

Magadh University has begun the online application process for admission to its MA, MSc and MCom programmes of PG Departments from April 26, 2021. Candidates can find the necessary information for admission to Magadh University on the official website magadhuniversity.ac.in. They must read the eligibility criteria before filling up the form. Magadh University PG Admission is done on the basis of merit in the qualifying examination. Basic Eligibility for all the PG courses is 50 per cent marks in graduation in relevant field. There is relaxation of 5 per cent marks for SC/ST candidates.

Magadh University admission dates for UG programmes have not been announced yet.

Apart from regular UG and PG programmes, the university also offers Ph.D and MPhil programmes to candidates in numerous specializations.

• Those seeking admission to undergraduate courses should pass Class 12 with relevant subjects from a recognized Board.
• Admission to UG and PG programmes will be granted on the basis of merit in the qualifying examination.
• The university also offers Ph.D programme and the selection of candidates for the same is done on the basis of the Pre-Ph.D test.
• For admission to M.Ed, University conducts M.Ed Entrance test, candidates seeking admission to the programme must register for the test after payment of INR 1000.
• For admission to the MCA program, a minimum of 50% (45% for SC/ ST) marks in Mathematics at 10+2 level or Bachelors's degree level are mandatory

The candidates are supposed to provide the following documents along with the duly filled-in application form:

• Self-attested marksheet of Class 12th
• Self-attested passing certificate Class 10
• Scanned photograph and signature
• Self-attested graduate marksheet

Magadh University does not provide its students with scholarships or fee concessions. However, it assists them in obtaining education loans and offers full support related to certification and documentation. Also, state and central government provide all the students belonging from ST, SC, OBC and minority categories (which cover around 70 to 75 per cent of total students enrolled) with financial assistance.
