National Law Institute University, also known as NLIU, Bhopal is one of the NLUs established by the Government of India. The University offers UG, PG and doctorate programmes in the field of Law. NLIU is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and is also a member of Association of Indian Universities (AIU). In 2019, the University was ranked 4th among all NLUs by CLAT and in the same year, it was also ranked 6th for Law by The Week. The University has a total intake of more than 600 students, out of which, more than 350 students are female.

The University offers BA LLB (Hons) at the UG level whereas, LLM and MS are offered at the PG level. Admission to all these programmes is based on the respective entrance exam. The admission process begins in January every year. NLIU admissions are conducted online through the official website of the University.

UG Courses

• BA LLB (Hons) admissions are based on CLAT scores
• A candidate, must have cleared Class 12 from any stream to be eligible for the admission to BA LLB (Hons)

PG Courses

• A valid score in CLAT is required for admission to LLM programme
• Candidates, must have done bachelor’s in Law, to apply for LLM programme
• The University conducts its own entrance test for admission to MS programme
• Candidates, who have done bachelor’s from a recgonised university, can apply for MS programme

PhD Course

• PhD admissions are based on an entrance test conducted by the University
• Candidates, must hold a master’s degree in Law, to apply for PhD programme

Additional Course

• Admission to PG Diploma is done on merit basis
• Candidates, who have done graduation in Law, can apply for the programme

NLU Bhopal Round 4 and 5 allotment (provisional) lists 2021 are released for UG and PG Law programmes.

The National Law Institute University (NLIU Bhopal or NLU Bhopal) offers around five courses but is popularly known for its BA LLB (Hons) and LLM programmes offered in full-time mode. The institute has a sanctioned intake of 134 students for BA LLB (Hons) and 60 students for LLM programme. NLIU Bhopal admission 2021 to BA LLB (Hons) and LLM is done on the basis of merit as assessed through a Common Law Admission Test (CLAT).

Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is a national level entrance exam that was conducted on July 23 and the results were declared on the official website of CLAT on July 29. CLAT-qualified candidates must complete the following two-step process to appear for CLAT Counselling, which is presented below:

Step 1: Update NLU preferences

Step 2: Make online payment of Rs 50,000

Registered candidates for CLAT 2021 counselling will be called by the respective NLUs through five provisional merit lists, each released by the Consortium of CLAT. Candidates, who are selected in either of the merit lists will have the following three options, including:

• Accept the allotted seat
• Apply for upgrade
• Exit from CLAT admission process
