One of the best amongst the elite national law schools in India, built on the five-year law degree model proposed and implemented by the Bar Council of India (BCI), The West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences (WBNUJS or popularly known as NUJS) was established under the WBNUJS Act, 1999 (West Bengal Act IX of 1999. The University was notified under Clause (f) of Section 2 of the UGC Act, 1956 in August 2004 and has been granted permanent affiliation by the Bar Council of India in July 2005. It is one of the autonomous law schools in India. The NUJS, Kolkata, along with the GNLU and NLSIU, Bengaluru, continuous to be the only three National Law Schools which have the honourable “Chief Justice of India” as the Chancellor.
NUJS is a Public Law School and a National University, offering courses such as BA-LLB (Hons), BSc-LLB(Hons), LLM (Corporate and Commercial Law), M Phil, PhD and LLD. Along with this, the University also offers Diploma or PG Diploma courses in various specialisations.

| Admission Details | The West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences, also known as WBNUJS or NUJS is one of the NLUs established by the Government of India. The University is approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and is ranked 2nd among all NLUs by CLAT cut-off. The last date to apply for MSc in Forensic Science is extended till October 30, 2021. West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences (NLU Kolkata or NUJS) offers around eight courses but is popularly known for its BA LLB (Hons) and LLM programmes offered in full-time mode. NLU Kolkata admission 2021 to BA LLB (Hons) and LLM is done on the basis of merit as assessed through a Common Law Admission Test (CLAT). What is CLAT Counselling?Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is a national level entrance exam that was conducted on July 23. The results for the same were out on the official website of CLAT (www. consortiumofnlus.ac.in/clat-2021) on July 29.
