DSNLU was established in 2008 by the DSNLU Act. The university is located at Sabbavaram, Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. The courses offered by the university are BA- LLB (Hons), LLM and PhD.

• Admission to BA- LLB (Hons) & LLM will be made through CLAT examination
• The admission to LLM will be done on merit basis
• The seat reservation criteria for all the courses is mentioned below:
  • 5% of seats are reserved for Specially Abled Persons (SAP)
  • 2% of seats are allocated to Children of Armed Personnel (CAP) of Andhra Pradesh
  • 1% of seats are reserved for National Cadet Corps (NCC) of Andhra Pradesh
  • 0.5% of seats are allocated to Eminent Sports Persons of Andhra Pradesh
  • 33.33% of seats are reserved for female candidates
• DSNLU offers a Post Graduate Diploma Programme in Alternate Dispute Resolution (ADR)

At the UG level, the university offers a five year integrated programme i.e. BA- LLB (Hons). The total number of seats available for this course is 120. The eligibility criteria for the same is mentioned below:

Note: The relaxation of 5% in aggregate marks will be given to the SC/ ST candidates.

LLM is a one-year programme offered by the university at the postgraduate level. The LLM is divided into two semesters. The total seat intake for LLM is 24.

DSNLU offers PhD as both part-time and full-time programme. The candidates who are doing research in law are eligible to apply for the same.

1. The admission to all the courses will be done through offline mode

• • • For BA- LLB (Hons) & LLM, candidates have to register on the CLAT website
    • For PhD, candidates can directly apply through the university website

2. Eligible candidates have to download the application form from the university website

3. Pay an application fee through DD to complete the application process

4. The merit list of eligible candidates will be announced

5. Eligible candidates have to go for document verification to complete the process

The Foreign Citizens/ Non- Resident Indians can directly apply from the official website of the university. 12 seats are reserved for Foreign Citizens/ Non- Resident Indians in BA- LLB (Hons) & 2 seats are reserved for Foreign Citizens/ Non- Resident Indians in LLM.

NLU Visakhapatnam Round 3, 4 and 5 allotment (provisional) lists 2021 are released for UG and PG Law programmes.

Damodaram Sanjivayya National Law University (National Law University, Visakhapatnam or NLU Visakhapatnam) offers five-year UG, i.e. BA LLB and a two-year LLM programme at PG level. Admission to both of these UG and PG courses is done on the basis of merit in Common Law Admission Test (CLAT). The round 1 provisional merit list of CLAT was released on August 1 followed by round 2 release on August 9. Candidates shortlisted in the second round can confirm their admission by making payment of the admission fee by August 10. 

Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is a national-level entrance test that was conducted on July 23 Students who qualified it must complete a two-step process to appear for CLAT counselling, which is as follows:

Step 1: Update NLU preferences.

Step 2: Make an online payment of Rs 50,000.

Registered students for CLAT counselling 2021 are called by the respective NLUs via five provisional merit lists, each released by the Consortium of CLAT if they qualify the same. Students, who are selected in either of the merit lists have the following three options:

• Accept the allotted seat
• Apply for upgrade
• Exit from CLAT admission process

Note: Candidates who did not get allotment in the prior list must wait for the next list.
