Submission of application form for admission into Master's Programme in Computer science application, Bioinformatics and Agri-Business Management-2021 from September 30 to October 28. OUAT application window for UG courses is closed on September 3. The entrance test for admission will be held on September 27. The date for admit card release is October 22. Established in 1962, Orissa University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT) is located at Bhubaneswar, Orissa. It is the second oldest agriculture university in India and is recognised by ICAR and UGC. The University was ranked at 91st position among Indian universities by NIRF in 2018. It offers courses at UG, PG, doctoral and diploma level such as BSc, BVSc, BTech, BFSc, MSc, MVSc, MTech, MCA, MSc, MBA, MFSc and PhD. 

OUAT admission process usually begins in April every year. Some of the major highlights regarding the admissions are mentioned below: 

UG Courses

• The basic eligibility criteria of all the UG courses is Class 12
• The University conducts a Common Entrance Test for admission to its UG programmes

PG Courses

• For MTech programme, the admission is accepted through a valid GATE score
• Admission to majority of the PG courses is based on the candidate's academic career

• OUAT PhD admission is based on a candidate's performance in the University-level entrance test 

OUAT offers UG programmes such as BSc, BVSc, BTech and BFSc. Admission to all the UG programmes is based on the entrance test conducted by the University. The entrance test comprises 200 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/ Biology subjects. The duration of the test is two hours and its medium is English. Weighted score of candidates will be calculated based on the academic career and entrance exam as mentioned below:

 Note: There is no negative marking in the entrance test.

The University conducts a common entrance exam to offer admission to its BSc programme. The candidates will be selected solely based on merit (weighted score) which is based on the academic career and performance in the entrance exam. OUAT also offers BVSc, BTech and BFSc programmes at undergraduate level. Admission to all these courses is based on the student's academic career and score obtained in the entrance test, conducted by the University. Before applying to the entrance test, candidates must fulfil the below-mentioned eligibility criteria:

At the PG level, OUAT offers numerous courses such as MSc, MVSc, MTech, MCA, MSc, MBA and, MFSc. Admission related all the information of all programmes is given below. 

OUAT offers nine specialisations under MSc course. The admission to MSc programme is based on a list prepared by the Univesity, with a combined score of entrance exam, including Class 10, Class 12 and BSc exams. To be eligible for MSc programme, candidates need to satisfy the minimum eligibility requirement mentioned below:

MVSc, MTech, MCA, MSc, MBA and MFSc programmes are also offered by the University. Except for a few courses, the selection of candidates for admission in different PG programmes is based on merit of the candidates.

• Admission to MTech programme is based on marks obtained in GATE
• The selection of candidates for admission into MCA, MSc (Bioinformatics) and MBA (Agri Business Management) is based on the weightage of academic career. The weightage of merit, Class 10, Class 12 and graduation is 10 per cent, 30 per cent and 50 per cent, respectively

At doctoral level, PhD is offered in 10 specialisations with a course duration of three years. For admission, the University conducts an entrance exam which is of 100 marks. The questions asked are short subjective type questions, covering the course taught at the Master's level.

Selection process: After qualifying the entrance exam, final selection is done based on the interview.
