What's new at Ranchi University? The placement report for 2022 is not released as of now. However, according to the NIRF report 2022, the University recorded a 100% placement rate for PG (2 years). Further, the median package offered to PG (2 years) students was INR 1.02 LPA. 

Ranchi University was established in 1960 with the objective to impart quality education in the state of Jharkhand. It is recognised by the University Grants Commission. The University is also accredited by the NAAC with a Grade ‘B++’ and is a member of AIU. Ranchi University admission is conducted in both online and offline modes. In the case of the online admission process, candidates are required to fill the application form available on the official website of the University. For offline admission, candidates need to visit the campus to purchase and submit the form in person. The University offers admission both on the basis of a valid score in a course-specific entrance exam and based on a valid score in the last qualifying exam.

UG courses

• BTech admission is based on JEE Main/ Jharkhand Engineering Entrance Competitive Examination (JEECE) score
• For MBBS/ BDS, eligible candidates need to get a valid score in NEET UG score
• For other UG courses, admission takes place on the basis of merit scores

PG courses

• For admission to MTech, a valid score in GATE and performance in CCMT Counselling is considered
• Those seeking admission to MBA need to appear for CAT/ MAT/ CMAT/ ATMA
• Admission to MD and MS programmes is through NEET PG score
• For remaining PG programmes, admission is granted on the basis of merit scores

PhD course

• For PhD admission, candidates need to have a valid score in university-conducted entrance exam and counselling

Ranchi University offers a range of full-time UG, PG, diploma, PG diploma, certificate and PhD programmes under its four faculty in the fields of Social Science, Humanities, Science and Commerce. The duration of all UG programmes ranges from three to four years, depending upon the nature of their course curriculum.
