Established in 1992, Sido Kanhu Murmu University (SKMU) is located in Dumka. The jurisdiction of the University extends over the six districts of Santhal Pargana where its 13 constituent and nine permanently affiliated colleges are located. Apart from this, the University has 705 affiliated colleges and 71 research institutes that collectively offer 100+ courses at UG and PG level. At the UG level, SKMU offers a full-time BA programme in 14 specialisations. The course duration for all the BA specialisations is three years, comprising six semesters.
