TNNLU is the new entry in the list of NLUs. TNNLU was established in the year 2012. The courses offered by the university are BA- LLB (Hons), BCom- LLB (Hons), LLM & PhD in the field of law.

• The admission to BA- LLB (Hons), BCom- LLB (Hons) & LLM will be done through CLAT exam
• An admission test is conducted by the university to fill seats in the PhD programme
• The total number of seats available for UG programmes are 120
• The total seat intake of PG programme is 18
• 50% of the seats will be reserved for the residents of Tamil Nadu

The admission to both programmes will be done on the basis of CLAT scores. Both the programmes consist of 10 semesters along with the compulsory internship in the relevant field.

The total number of seats available for UG programmes are 120, out of which 60 seats are allocated to BA-LLB (Hons) & 60 seats are allocated to BCom- LLB (Hons) respectively. The detailed seat intake is mentioned in the below table:

LLM is a one-year degree programme offered by the university in three different streams. This programme consists of 9 courses along with a dissertation. The eligibility criteria for the same is as follows:

The total seat intake of LLM programme is 18. Out of which 8 seats are reserved for the residents of the Tamil Nadu & 8 seats are allocated to all other candidates.

The minimum duration of the PhD programme is 3 years & a maximum of 6 years. The admission to PhD is based upon the admission test conducted by the university.

NLU Tiruchirappalli Round 4 and 5 allotment (provisional) lists 2021 are released for UG and PG Law programmes.

The Tamil Nadu National Law University, also known as NLU Tiruchirappalli offers various Law courses but is popularly known for its BA LLB (Hons), BCom LLB Hons and LLM programmes offered in full-time mode. NLU Tiruchirappalli admission 2021 to BA / BCom LLB (Hons) and LLM is done on the basis of merit as assessed through a Common Law Admission Test (CLAT).

Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is a national level entrance exam that was conducted on July 23 and the results were released on the official website on July 29. CLAT-qualified candidates must complete the following two-step process to appear for CLAT Counselling, which is presented below:

Step 1: Update NLU preferences

Step 2: Make online payment of Rs 50,000

Registered candidates for CLAT 2021 counselling will be called by the respective NLUs through five provisional merit lists, each released by the Consortium of CLAT. Candidates, who are selected in either of the merit lists will have the following three options, including:

• Accept the allotted seat
• Apply for upgrade
• Exit from CLAT admission process
