What's new at The NorthCap University? According to the NIRF report 2022, 325 students were placed in UG programmes and 39 were placed in PG programmes. Founded in 1996 by Educate India Society, the NorthCap University is an autonomous university which was earlier known as ITM University. Situated in Gurugram, Haryana, this university is accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) 2016-2021. This institution offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in fields such as engineering, management, sciences and law.

It is approved by the University Grants Commission, recognised by the Bar Council of India and accredited by Accreditation Services for International Colleges (ASIC), UK. The NorthCap University Admission Process

The university offers various Undergraduate courses in different streams such as B.Tech, B.Sc (Hons), B.Com and BBA. In case of B.Tech, a candidate must have passed 10+2 (English Medium) examination from a recognized board in Science stream with an overall 60% aggregate. For other UG courses, a minimum of 50% aggregate in marks in the best four subjects is required. Admission to the university programs will be done on Merit basis.

Formerly known as ITM University, The NorthCap University (NCU) is a self-financed multi-disciplinary University recognised by UGC and is located at Gurugram, Haryana. It was established by the Haryana State Legislature under the Haryana Private Universities Act, 2009. NCU Admission Process 2021: Fast Facts

NCU admission 2021 is both an online and offline process. It offers admission to courses such as BTech, BSc (Hons), BBA, BA (Hons), BCom (Hons) and BBA LLB, at UG level and MTech, MBA, MSc and LLM, at PG level. Other than regular degree programmes, the University also offers PhD programme.

UG Courses (APPLICATIONS OPEN)

  • NCU BTech admission is based on a candidate's valid score in JEE Main
  • Candidates seeking admission to BA LLB programme must appear for either of CLAT/ LSAT/ AILET exam
  • Admission to the remaining UG programmes is merit-based

PG Courses (APPLICATIONS OPEN)

  • For admission to MTech programme, aspirants must have a valid score in GATE

NCU UG Admission 2021

NCU offers numerous courses at UG level. Admission to all these courses differs from course to course. Due to Covid-19, NCU has announced provisional admissions based on the average score of Class 11 and Class 12 pre-board exams in Science stream (English medium), or IB exam predictive score, or SAT score. All the details regarding admissions are elaborated below.

NCU Admission 2021: BTech, BTech (Lateral Entry)

The University offers BTech and BTech (Lateral Entry) programme with a course duration of four and three years, respectively. Admission to BTech is based on JEE Main rank and for BTech (Lateral Entry), students will be selected as per the merit list prepared based on the aggregate in the state LEET exam and the aggregate obtained by the applicant in Diploma. The weightage of merit, is 80 per cent and 20 per cent, respectively. 

  • BTech Computer Science Engineering has a seat intake of 400 across all its specialisations, whereas BTech Electronics and Communication Engineering and BTech Mechanical Engineering accepts 40 and 20 applications, respectively.

NCU Admission 2021: BSc (Hons), BBA, BA (Hons), BCom (Hons), BBA LLB, BCA

NCU PG Admission 2021

NCU offers PG programmes in the field of Engineering, Applied Sciences, Management and Law. Admission to these programmes is granted through the programme's respective entrance exam and eligibility criteria.

NCU MTech Admission 2021

The University offers four streams in several specialisations under MTech programme. The courses is offered in both full-time and part-time modes. 30 per cent of the seats are reserved for GATE qualified applicants. For the remaining 70 per cent seats, the selection criteria shall be based on merit i.e. 85 per cent weightage will be given to aggregate in the qualifying examination at the UG level, and 15 per cent is given weightage to the personal interview. Any unfilled seats from GATE applicants shall also be treated as unreserved.

  • The University has a seat intake of 10 for its MTech Computer Science Engineering programme
  • There are 10 seats available under MTech Electrical, Electronics and Communication Engineering stream
  • MTech Civil Engineering accepts 10 seats around the year

NCU PhD Admission 2021

NCU offers PhD programame in nine specialisations at doctoral level. Admission to PhD is done twice every year, in November- December and June-July. Aspirants need to take NPET (Universirt-based entrance exam) followed by PI.

  • Candidates, who have valid score in NET/ GATE/ SLET, are exempted from taking NPET. The following weightage shall be assigned to various components for admission:
  • National level test score: 50%
  • Qualifying degree aggregate: 30%
  • Interview: 20%
  • The NPET will be of two hours duration and is an objective type test. It will be held from 10 am-12 pm on the date specified by the University
  • Part-time candidates are required to submit a ‘No Objection Certificate (NOC)’ on a proper letterhead from the competent authority of the organisation in which he/she is presently working

NCU Application Process 2021

NCU application can be applied through both online or offline mode. An application fee of Rs 1080 is required to be submitted along with completely filled application form. The application form should also have self-attested photocopy of supporting relevant documents.

For applying offline, the candidate can download the application form from the website of NCU or can obtain it from the University campus and the fee should be paid in cash at NCU campus or through DD in favour of ‘The NorthCap University, Gurugram’ payable at Gurugram/ Delhi.

For online application, e-transaction provision is given while submitting the admission form.

NCU Scholarship 2021

NCU provides students with 100 per cent merit-based scholarships based on their performance in Class 12 board exams or SAT or IB scores on a first-cum-first-serve basis. Candidates must enroll for the programme by depositing the advance fee by the given due date in the provisional admission offer letter. Continuation of admission scholarship is subject to obtaining a CGPA of 8 on a scale of 10, having no backlog and no discipline case being recorded against the student.
