Uttarakhand Open University (UOU) is the only Open University established in the state of Uttarakhand with an objective to impart distance learning education at UG and PG level. The University has enrolled more than 68,000 students in 85+ programmes at UG, PG and Doctorate level. UOU admission is merit-based.

Uttarakhand Open University UG Admission 2022

The University offers undergraduate programmes in the streams of Arts & Humanities, Commerce, Science, IT, Management and Performing Arts such as BA, BCom, BSc, BCA, BBA, Bachelor of Travel and Tourism Management (BTTM), Bachelor of Yoga Sciences (BYS) and Bachelor of Hotel Management (BHM). The course duration of all of these programmes is three years.

Selection criteria: UG admission is merit-based and is done on first-cum-first-serve basis.

Uttarakhand Open University BA admission is offered in various specialisations, including General, Geography, Mathematics and Yoga Sciences being the most preferred ones. BSc is also offered in two specialisations, including one in General and the other in an optional subject of choice. Also, the University offers B.Ed in three different specialisations that include General, Special Education (Learning Disability) and Special Education (Mental Retardation).

Uttarakhand Open University also offers professional UG programmes to students in distance learning mode. The programmes include BBA, BCA, BCom, BTTM and BHM.

At PG level, UOU offers MA, MSc, MCom, MCA, Master of Social Work (MSW), Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Tourism and Travel Management (MTTM). The course duration of all the PG programmes is two years.

Uttarakhand Open University MA admission is offered in 19 specialisations with Political Science, Yoga and History being the most preferred ones. MSc is offered in 10 specialisations with Chemistry, Physics and Zoology being the top three choices of the students.
