Established in 1959, Sri Venkateswara University College of Engineering (SVUCE) is a constituent college of the Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati. It is affiliated to Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Anantapur. It has been recognised as a premier institution offering engineering education programs, training human resources oriented to problem-solving and system development. It is approved by AICTE and recognised by UGC. It has been accredited with A Grade by NAAC. It offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in varied fields such as Engineering, IT and Software.

• Applicants need to clear the AP EAMCET exam for admission to the BTech programme
• Candidates must have passed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or equivalent for admission to the BTech programme
• Lateral entry admission is also available for the BTech programme
• Candidates need to qualify for GATE / AP PGECET exams for admission to the MTech programme
• Candidates must have passed BE / BTech in the relevant field or AMIE / AMIICHE / AMIETE with a minimum of 50 per cent aggregate for admission to the MTech programme
• Aspirants can submit the duly-filled application forms online by paying an application fee of Rs 550 for UG courses and Rs 1,000 for PG courses

SVUCE offers a total of 18 courses across two streams. The course duration of BTech is four years and MTech is two years. It offers BTech and MTech in multiple specialisations like Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science and Engineering. SVUCE witnessed a satisfactory 60 per cent placement in 2020. The college has a placement cell that imparts required training to students and coordinates with the industry to arrange campus interviews for the students studying in the backward region of Rayalaseema. Here are few highlights of SVUCE 2020:

• Based on the students’ reviews on Shiksha, the highest salary package was Rs 9 LPA while the lowest salary package stood at Rs 4 LPA
• The recruiting companies offered different types of job roles to the students like junior software engineers, app developers, junior engineers, and some start-ups also offered big roles
• Many renowned companies visited the campus for placements such as Wipro, Infosys, Tech Mahindra, Yatra, Cognizant, TCS, Accenture, Yahoo, Yatra.com, CMC Limited, Tech Mahindra, Birlasoft, L&T, Reliance Power, HAL, Voltas, TVS, Bharat Electronics, etc.
• The placement cell also helps students in internships. The highest stipend offered to the students was Rs 10,000 per month, the lowest was around Rs 2,500 per month and the average stipend was Rs 4,500 per month.
