GIMSR was established in the year 2015 at Rushikonda, Visakhapatnam. It is the first deemed medical college in the private sector in Andhra Pradesh. The institute is approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The MBBS offered by the GIMSR is due for recognition by the Medical Council of India/National Medical Commission
GIMSR offers two courses that include MBBS, and BSc Paramedical Courses. Admission to this course is entrance based. Admissions to the MBBS programme is based on the scores in NEET-UG Test. Admissions to the BSc Paramedical Courses is based on GAT (Paramedical UG) – 2021 scores.
MBBS has an annual seat intake of 150 students. It is full-fledged with 850 hospital teaching beds teaching. Adding to this, GIMSR also has 11 operation theatres (9 major, 2 minor). BSc Paramedical Courses is offered in four specialisations with the duration of three and four years. Scholarships are granted on the entrance exam scores.
GIMSR has a huge infrastructure. It offers all the facilities to the students and the faculty that includes sports grounds, gymnasium, international level indoor multi-purpose sports complex, museums, library, skill labs, etc. A hostel facility is also available at GIMSR.
