International Management Institute, also known as IMI Bhubaneswar, is India’s first corporate-sponsored B-school established in the year 1981. The Institute is an RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group Institution having its other two campuses in Delhi and Kolkata. It is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and National Board of Accreditation (NBA). A constituent institute of IMI Delhi, the Management Institute currently offers Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) in full-time and part-time modes, Fellow Programme in Management (FPM) and Management Development Programme (MDP) approved by the AICTE.

The flagship PGDM programme is accredited by the NBA (National Board of Accreditation) and has got equivalence from AIU (Association of Indian Universities). IMI programmes are also accredited and recognised by the United States Board for Education Standardisation (USBES), USA. The Institute is a member of the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD), Association of Management Development Institutions in South Asia (AMDISA), Association of Indian Universities (AIU) and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).

Apart from the regular classes, it also focuses on other academic activities to promote the talent of students. It comprises five clubs for these activities, namely Marketing Club, Finance Club, HR Club, Operations Club and CSR Club. It also offers an education loan facility to economically weak students in collaboration with Credila Financial Services Pvt Ltd, SBI, Allahabad Bank, Central Bank of India, Andhra Bank, Axis Bank and National Securities Depository Ltd (NSDL).

The campus of IMI Bhubaneswar is equipped with modern facilities, including the classrooms with latest audio-visual equipment, auditoriums, conference rooms, high-speed internet connection, computer labs, industry-oriented labs, etc. The campus also has residential accommodation for students, a fitness centre, a cafeteria and indoor & outdoor sports facilities.

PGDM Courses

• Admission to full-time PGDM programme is based on CAT/ XAT/ CMAT/ GMAT scores
• Candidates, who have completed graduation in the relevant stream, can apply for full-time PGDM programme
• Final selection of students is based on the entrance exam scores and their performance in written test, essay writing and Group Discussion & Personal Interview (GDPI)
• Admission to PGDM (part-time) is based on IMI Written Test/ CAT/ GMAT scores
• Candidates, who have completed graduation in the relevant stream with a minimum two years of work experience, can apply for PGDM (part-time) programme
• Final selection of students is based on the entrance exam scores and their performance in PI

PGPCM Course

• PGPCM admissions are based on an admission test, conducted by IMI Bhubaneswar
• Candidates, who have completed graduation in the relevant stream, can apply for PGPCM programme
• Final selection of students is based on the scores obtained in the admission test and their performance in PI

FPM Course

• Admission to FPM is based on CAT/ GMAT/ GRE scores
• A candidate must have completed post-graduation or graduation in Engineering to apply for FPM programme
• Final selection of students is based on the scores obtained in any of the entrance exams and their performance in PI

The Institute offers a full-time and part-time Post-Graduate Diploma in Management with a duration of two years. It also offers a Post Graduate Certificate Programme in Management (PGCPM) with a duration of 11 months. Apart from these courses, a full-time Fellow Programme in Management (FPM) is also offered by IMI Bhubaneswar. It is a full-time four-year programme which can be extendable by one year. IMI Bhubaneswar also offers an Executive Programme in International Business (EPIB) and several Management Development Programmes. The Institute offers placement for all full-time programmes through its placement cell. In 2020, the Institute had a placement record of 100 per cent placements. From the placed students, 14 per cent of students got pre-placement offers (PPOs). The Institute has also set a record of bringing 70 per cent news companies to the campus this year. The Institute offers scholarships for PGDM and FPM students. These scholarships are offered on merit-basis, and amount of scholarships depends upon the marks secured by students. Below mentioned are the details regarding IMI Bhubaneswar scholarships:

Pre-Admission Scholarships for PGDM students:

Merit Scholarship: Candidates, who have secured at least 80 per centile in CAT/ XAT/ CMAT/ GMAT, are eligible for this scholarship. The maximum scholarship amount of this scholarship is Rs 1 lakh.

Merit Scholarship for two women candidates: Female students, who have secured at least 80 per centile in CAT/ XAT/ CMAT/ GMAT, are awarded with 20 per cent additional merit scholarship. This scholarship is given only to two female students.

Defense Personnel: This scholarship is offered to the wards or defense personnel and wards of martyr’s. The wards of defense personnel are eligible for a scholarship of Rs 50,000, whereas the wards of martyr’s are eligible for a scholarship of Rs 1 lakh.

Note: A candidate can avail only one of the above-mentioned pre-admission scholarships. 50 per cent of the scholarship will be given at the end of the first year and next 50 per cent at the end of the second year. A candidate can avail either tuition fee waiver or pre-admission scholarship.

Post-Admission Scholarship for PGDM students:

Students who have topped the examination with their outstanding cumulative academic performance are awarded with this scholarship.

Note: PGDM students are also awarded with a summer internship scholarship to emphasise the seriousness of summer internships.

Scholarships for FPM students:

FPM students are awarded with a tuition fee and will also get a stipend of Rs 20,000 per month for first two years, which will be increased to Rs 25,000 per month on completion of course work. In case, students are exempted from the first year of course work, they will get Rs 20,000 per month for the first year and Rs 25,000 per month on completion of course work.
